  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have watched Ghost in the Shell and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence and I've been impressed with the series. My question is, is Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex suitable for younger audiences, specifically the fourteen to fifteen year bracket. I'm trying to find some more anime to watch with my younger brother, and would like to know what sort of 'mature content' I will be in for. I would hate to have to tell him halfway through that he can't watch the rest.

Note: I let him watch the second Ghost in the Shell, but not the first.

From what I've seen of Stand Alone Complex, I don't think there'll be a problem. Cartoon Network airs it, after all, and next to the rest of those programs it fits nicely, if a bit more emphasis on the technological implications of things.

i've never seen stand-alone-complex, but the original movie i would be cautious about. There is nudity and some violence (graphic, but not gratutious), however, the underlying story is most incredible, and along the lines of "are those born human the only humans?" and "can machines be human too?"
