God is all powerful, human beings are not
God is all knowing, human beings are not
God is everywhere at every time, human beings are not

Based on these assumptions how can anything human beings ever do not be seen in advance and stopped by God?
How can human beings ever cause the slightest inconvenience to God and His plan?

@bling doesn't that really go against the whole "God is good" thing? God hurting innocent people? it then becomes a question of is it the gun that kills or the person wielding it?

@Tim i agree with those statements but that only compounds the problem, God could stop any suffering he wished either from humans (murder rape etc) or natural disasters. and if you say that it's part of his plan why does a loving god plan to hurt us?

i completely agree, you create a species (us) that has no concept of rape or murder or you format the male brain to only be aroused with consent from the partner. for an all powerful god that's easy and for an all knowing one all 3 ideas must have already occurred to him and he just decided to ignore them... once again, God is not good.

Well, thatotherguy....you sound like a reasonably intelligent individual....

So, I know you are capable of thinking up an demonstrative illustration like a knife.......

Knives are created to chop food, cut inanimate objects, and other non-harmful, non-lethal purposes, are they not??

Yet, if someone decides to use one to hack their neighbor into tiny, bite-sized pieces should the blame be placed upon the manufacturer of the knife or upon the homicidal wielder of that knife??

what i'm saying now is that if you saw an old lady being mugged you would stop it if you could, God can stop everything. every theft, every rape, every murder even every stubbed toe if he wanted. so how is that god being moral by letting these things happen?

i agree it's not the manufacturers fault but if the manufacturer could alter the fabric of time and space they could manufacture a blade that turns into snowflakes every time it touches flesh

Also, re: satan not even being a speedbump to G-d's plan? Yeah, that's the point of the oldest book of the Bible, Job.

It's Ray. How so? You have not read that G-d made man good? You have not read that man was forbidden to eat of the fruit of the tree of good and evil?

Care to pinpoint for me exactly which piece of this puzzle you're missing? You do agree that murder and rape are not good?

Yes but that's not moral by the sense that we understand moral today in this society.

the point of Job is to show that God makes a bet and lets Satan utterly DESTROY a mans life. on nothing more than a whim of God allows these things to happen indefinitely until Job's faith fails... that was a test he was never going to pass

of course i agree that murder and rape aren't good but there are some that don't have such objections.
surely after eating that fruit having eternal punishment in hell is overkill enough rather than also having murderers and rapists on the loose in this life too?
