If there is someone you trust you could have them be an accountability partner. Also, quitting an addiction often isn't as easy quitting an activity, but you also need to replace it with a different activity. So whenever you get the urge to look at pornography, do something to keep your mind focused on something else instead, such going for a walk or jog or some other exercise, or reading a book, or whatever you'd prefer. Throw out any pornographic magazines and such and delete all of it off of your computer. If you use your computer to look at pronography, then choose a replacement activity that is off your computer to remove that source of temptation. There are also extensions you can get for free for your web browser that will block the web sites sites that you tell it to. Possibly reward yourself whenever you successfully resist the temptation.

Yeah those are good ideas but what do I do when it becomes night time because that is when my urge is the strongest? It practically floods mind and so hard to resist :/.

Do anything that keeps you distracted with something else, such as watching TV or reading a book. Or maybe if you have exercise equipment, then work out instead.

I'm glad you were able to make it. I'm not an expert on this matter, I just had some ideas that I thought would be helpful to you. There are a number of websites to have tips for helping people recover from porn addictions:

may I add to this? I'm actually listening to a book called Battlefield of the Mind - Joyce Meyer. I am quickly finding this to be very helpful.

My sister told me about an app that I could get my first book for free if I signed up for a free trial for 30 days. I thought why not give it a try? I'm very glad I did. Of course the first book I chose was Battlefield of the Mind. A $40 book for free!

App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.audible.application&hl=en
Book: https://books.google.ca/books/about...on.html?id=dCQ-xD-5jWAC&source=kp_cover&hl=en

I sincerely hope this will help you long term.

Since my other thread about pornography I've been trying not to watch it as much, but I'm finding it difficult. So far I've gone 3 days but I'm finding it more and more impossible. Idk what to do?

Well, the one Power Source that you need to overcome this addiction completely is unavailable to you as an agnostic. Quite frankly, we are hardwired to gratify ourselves. It is just the way God made us. Porn takes the natural desire for sexual gratification, separates it from the context of marriage and love in which it belongs, and inflames it out of all proper proportion. And the more one's sexual desire is twisted and inflamed by porn, the more entrenched are the physiological consequences that arise from that inflammation of desire. Basically, you're like a junkie needing a fix. Your body has come to crave the stimulation looking at porn causes in your brain - and elsewhere. But this is what sin always does. It takes us farther than we ever wanted to go and costs us more than we ever wanted to pay. You're fighting your own hardwiring for gratification, which you have agitated unnaturally with porn, and the steps to reversing what you've done are going to be next to impossible to take without the help of your Creator.

You've got another problem, too. You've become fixated on the desire for sexual stimulation. We are also made by God to become conformed to what we focus upon. The more you think on a particular thing, the larger it will grow in your thinking. And the larger a thing becomes in your mind, the greater power it has to shape your conduct. It is because this is so that companies spend multi-billions of dollars every year on advertising. They want to keep their products in the forefront of your thinking and urge you to buy them as much as possible because they know that the more you are focused on their advertising, the more likely you are to buy their stuff. This may work well for businesses, but not for you. You've got fixated on what porn is advertising, and on masturbating and the sexual gratification it produces. And the more you fixate on these things, the more power they have to shape your behaviour.

God can get you free. But He imparts His power to help in such situations to those who are His children. Distracting yourself with other things, or exercising, or cold showers - these are all like putting band-aids on a tumor. You can apply as many band-aids as you want, but the tumor is not affected one bit. What you need is a Surgeon; One who can get right to the root of the problem and cut it out. And I declare to you that that Surgeon is God. You will only limp along, experiencing momentary successes against the craving you've created in yourself but never actually winning totally free of the sickly "pleasure" of porn until you let God fundamentally transform you by the power of His Spirit.

You're pretty well spoken tbh. But yeah maybe you are right idk. Also the past few days have been not good like I've watched porn 2 times already both times it felt great but I felt sick afterwards. I have been doubting doing this because of how I feel watching porn and stuff idk. Anyways I have been sorta seeking god I guess it just that I don't know 100%.

Well, you know, no one seeks God before God seeks them. If you have some inclination toward knowing God, it is because He has been working in your mind and heart. But God will not force you into a relationship with Him. At some point, you will have to choose to know Him and walk with Him. If you feel some "sickness" after watching porn, it is likely the consequence of having some God-given sense that looking at porn is fundamentally wrong. But this is a good thing! It means God has touched you and is drawing you to Himself. Will you respond to His touch? Or will you let porn draw you deeper into its twisted and destructive clutches? You are already in its grip, which will only tighten upon you over time. If you wish to get free, do so sooner rather than later! And the One who can get you free waits for you to turn to Him and seek His aid in getting free.

John 8:34-36
34 Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.
35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.
36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

I used to touch while I was high school, but I stopped after putting a poster of Jesus up by my bed. I haven't done it since then. It was just a thought of God watching what I was doing, which is a thought I tried to avoid at the time, that made me stop doing it.

While we use women the wrong way, we miss out on how we could be loving.

And only Jesus can have us find out how to love.

"'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:28-29)

Jesus does not only stop a problem, but He brings us to all that is so better.

I masturbated to porn for 20 years. My problem was that I didnt have enough faith in the Lord to care to quit. So I suggest that you work on your faith as it may be the root of your addiction.

If youre wondering what Jesus has to say about porn and masturbation, I think this one hits home:

"If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell." Matthew 5:29-30.

Notice that Jesus says there are consequences for this sin. If people are being mean to you, it could be because of your sin. Pay attention!

Since Im on this subject, if you think nobody knows about what youre doing, consider what Jesus says:

"For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open." Luke 8:17.

Now I dont know exactly how people knew what I was doing, but I know that they did. So if you dont want to continue to embarrass yourself, I would stop immediately and repent.
