  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A prayerful lesson.

I learned something today in a sermon I was listening to while I was working, the paster mention something about hannah, how she wanted so badly to have a child, but she was barren, but at the same time it was a desire that God had put on her heart all alone.

it was his will the whole time. so one might say...why would God put a desire on someones heart, and make it humanly impossible to fulfilled it. well the answer I heard was quiet profound, but quiet simple, you see, it wasn't that God was holding back on hannah. but that she needed to change her prayer and motives, when she promise to dedicate her child to God, he open her womb, and she bacame pregnant.

many times we may think that if a prayer is not answer how we want, we think it might not be Gods will. and we give in, and ask God to take it away or help us to be content about it. but many times it could be his will, it's just that we need to line our hearts and will according to his. and pray according to his will. I was real encourage to hear this. cause I've struggle at times, rather or not a desire is of God or not. and when it don't happen in my time, I just get discourage and give in or ask God to just take it away. it was a good lesson that I'm trying to learn. just thought that might encourage someone.:)

Wow, absulutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Makes me really think about my prayers. Often I pray things that I think surely must be in his will, yet now I need to really consider things. Am I asking for the right reasons? Is there something simple I am missing?

Hindsight is so cool. I can look back now and see that many prayers were answered, yet not quite how I expected. God doesnt always do things the same way each time, nor does he always do things in a way that we expect.

I was searching CF, looking for something a bit deeper. Thanks. You have provided it. :)
