A prayer request

I have become a Christian over the past few weeks, and the changes in my views have been nothing but amazing.

My church, is quite.. lively in comparison with some, not as lively as charasmatic churches, but somewhere in-between. Friends of mine, have been attending a very traditional church, throughout their lives, and condemn the fact that I listen to Christian Rock, branding it as "evil", because of the genre of it, and that "Rock and Christian don't mix". However, I feel differently about this, and am an open-minded person. I don't think it makes a difference in the genre, or what instruments we use. The most important thing in a song, is the lyrics. There are 6 billion people out there, and I trust Christianity can suit everyone, because it gives us options. There are no "rights or wrongs" with what kind of music we listen to, given in the Bible, but we should put our trust in God to allow us to listen to the right type, and be careful of its lyrics and meanings.

I read this site lately, where a guy talks about views on things, and how we can deal with them, and how some genres of music focus on the gifts we get from God, not the true love. He then goes on to state that we need to be careful we're not in Christianity "for the mansion at the end of it", if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I just want you to pray for me, so that I can have the knowledge and wisdom to know what to say to people like this. They will argue to their death with me, but I don't want to argue back. Being open minded, I don't go and condemn something without any valid reason or backing it up in the Scriptures. She also has tried to condemn my Church, but I have stated that Psalm 150 talks about how we can use cymbals, and different instruments. I believe that the Bible gives us such strong options, within reasoning, because it is for everyone, in all corners of the earth.

Anyway, please pray for me in your prayers, and I shall to, as I need all the help I can, but maybe the Holy Spirit won't act unless openly asked to. So PLEASE, Pray for me, and help me deal with this situation. It's not hard, as I don't get into arguments, and I won't as I don't believe Christianity should even involve that, but I need the gifts of Wisdom and Knowledge.

I do not have the answers. As much as I would like to say x+X=y and everthing makes sense it doesn't always make sense.

Continue to follow Christ and no matter what comes your way He will be there.

Dear Lord, I lift up Matt in prayer. Cover him with Your wisdom and words in every way. Cover him with Your Holy annointing and direction daily. In the name of Jesus "Amen"

Thanks everyone for your loving responses. I had a good conversation today, but I wish to have more, so may the wisdom remain. I have printed out that article for one of them to read, hopefully they will read it all and not try to look for faults in it like the other.
