  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi,

I gave my life to Christ about six months ago while in a hospital after trying to commit suicide for the second time. Since then my old friends have been really hostile and mean. In school they pushed me, put stuff in my locker like bottles of pills, made fun and even ruined a really nice Bible that the hospital clergy gave me. I switched schools and have a few Christian friends but my old ones still call my house, toilet paper the trees and make threats. They also call me a lot and ask me to parties or concerts. When I say no they tease me and are really mean. None of them are Christians and they all really hate Christian people. I used to too but it got me nowhere. Anyway if anyone can pray for me that they will leave me alone or come to Christ, and please pray that I don't get back into that life. It's really tempting sometimes but I know how dangerous it was and how bad it was for my family. Thanks a lot!!

Your Sister in Christ,
Kiah

 Heavenly Father, Kiah has come to her Christian family for support and guidance. I come to your Throne of Grace humbly and lift Kiah up to You, Lord. Please put your hedge of protection around her. Please soften her old friends' hearts so that they all come to see Your son Jesus as Savior. Please strengthen her new friends' hearts and give them wisdom, courage and grace to help Kiah grow spiritually. Give Kiah the peace that can only come from you. The peace that goes beyond all understanding. We know that all grace, faith, wisdom, strength, courage and peace come from You, Father. I pray in Jesus's most Heavenly Name, Amen.

Praying for you Kiah. Unfortunately, you are finding out early on in your Christian life that satan likes to use whatever he can to make us doubt our decision to give our hearts to God. I know how hard it is to go against your friends and to be different from them. And it is very commendable that you are sticking to your guns and asking for prayer not only for yourself but for your old friends as well. I pray that God will surround with new friends who are Christians who can provide you with the support and encouragement you need during this trial.

Kiah:prayer:

I am going right to the point. You can make it. When I was 24 I finally gave Christ the place He deserved in my life. I am now 41 and my life is amazing. It was a hard road without a doubt but it is gift to yourself worth giving. There were times I wanted to quit but God always came through with someone, something or an outright miracle. I will keep you in prayer for strenght to endure and that God wrap His loving arms around you so totally.

God has used me in prison ministry, music ministry, teaching in HS and now my husband is finishing seminary. Beleive me, another suicide survivor, HE HAS SO MUCH FOR YOU TO DO AND GIVE AND HE WILL USE ALL YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH AND WILL GO THROUGH FOR OTHERS.

Two things I want you to remeber:
1 go with what you know in Christ and keep learning
2 Seek His presence as often as you possibly can. Put him first before everything and you will see things change.

God Bless you!
Laura
