    Psalm 33

1 Sing for joy to Adonai, you righteous.
Praise is fitting for the upright.

2 Praise Adonai with the harp.
Sing praises to Him with a ten string lyre.

3 Sing to Him a new song!
Play skillfully amid shouts of joy.

4 For the word of Adonai is upright
and all His work is done in faithfulness.

5 He loves righteousness and justice.
The earth is full of the love of Adonai.

6 By Adonai’s word were the heavens made,
and all their host by the breath of His mouth.

7 He gathers the waters of the sea together in a heap.
He lays up deep waters in storehouses.

8 Let all the earth fear Adonai.
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

9 For He spoke, and it came to be.
He commanded, and it stood firm.

10 Adonai foils the purpose of the nations.
He thwarts the plans of the peoples.

11 The plan of Adonai stands forever,
the purposes of His heart from generation to generation.

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is Adonai,
the people He chose for His own inheritance.

13 Adonai looks down from heaven.
    He observes all humanity.

14 From His dwelling place He gazes
on all the inhabitants of the earth—

15 He who fashions the hearts of all,
    who discerns all their deeds.

16 No king is saved by his great army,
no warrior is delivered by great strength.

17 A horse is a false hope for victory,
nor can its great strength save.

18 Behold, the eyes of Adonai are on those who fear Him,
    waiting for His love,

19 to deliver their souls from death,
and to keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul waits for Adonai
He is our help and our shield.

21 Our heart rejoices in Him,
because we trusted in His holy Name.

    22 Let Your lovingkindness, Adonai,
be upon us, as we have waited for You.

Thank you! :hug:s There's lots of interesting footnotes attached to the different translations, for example from another translation
    1. Psalm 33 A hymn in which the just are invited (Ps 33:1–3) to praise God, who by a mere word (Ps 33:4–5) created the three-tiered universe of the heavens, the cosmic waters, and the earth (Ps 33:6–9). Human words, in contrast, effect nothing (Ps 33:10–11). The greatness of human beings consists in God’s choosing them as a special people and their faithful response (Ps 33:12–22).
    2. 33:6 All their host: the stars of the sky are commonly viewed as a vast army, e.g., Neh 9:6; Is 40:26; 45:12; Jer 33:22.
    3. 33:7 The waters…as a mound: ancients sometimes attributed the power keeping the seas from overwhelming land to a primordial victory of the storm-god over personified Sea.
I’m not sure that of last one tho, not too up to date on ancient personified gods ;)

Well we'll just leave that last one out then. The living God, our Creator, said that only HE is God, and i agree, and give Him all the glory, for He alone is God.

Thank you for the edification. :)

Because of the use of Adonai in the Op another hymn seems fitting: (I’m not sure what the cadence is)

    Adonai

I lift my voice, I lift my praise to You
I lift my hands, I lift my worship to You
And I love You more than I can say
Oh, I love You more than I can say

Adonai will see only You will I adore
Glorify my Lord, only You will I serve
For the world will fade away
Still my song to You remains
    Only You will I adore

I lift my voice, I lift my praise to You
I lift my hands, I lift my worship to You
And I love You more than I can say
Oh, I love You more than I can say

Adonai will see only You will I adore
Glorify my Lord, only You will I serve
For the world will fade away
Still my song to You remains
    Only You will I adore

    Oh, I love You always
    Oh, I love You always
    Oh, I love You always
    Oh, I love You always

    Yes Lord
    Oh, I love You always
    Oh, I love You always

Adonai will see only You will I adore
Glorify my Lord, only You will I serve
For the world will fade away
Still my song to You remains

Adonai ( אֲדֹנָי, lit. "My Lords") is the plural form of adon ("Lord") along with the first-person singular pronoun enclitic. As with Elohim, Adonai's grammatical form is usually explained as a plural of majesty. In the Hebrew Bible, it is nearly always used to refer to God
