My wife has had severe nerve pain for most of her life. Some doctors just called it nerve pain while others called it fibromyalgia. Either way the symptoms were there. Most of the time she felt like electricity shocking her when I would touch her skin. Even the wind could cause pain.
After a while she began to believe nothing could help and that she just had to live with it. But today she went to see a neurologist (she had seen them before). I had told her to tell them that she was in constant pain and even though she told them before about it and they placed her on meds that only helped a little she should tell them the true depth of the pain.
She asked the doctor if it was possible to feel better. His answer was a simple yes. She spent years suffering and now here she is just telling the truth about exactly how bad it is and he tells her there is hope. So he increased her medicine (which apparently the one that helped a little was the LOWEST dose).
Now after taking it tonight she told me she felt something moving down her back and like her nerves were being lubricated. She said the pins and needles are gone and she asked me to touch her face. I caressed her face gently (normally she would almost scream in pain) and she said it felt like "a happy hug."
She said my hand had always felt like sandpaper and hard, but that they were soft. We are so thankful for this and I wanted to give a report of praise and encouragement NOT to give up and believe you have to just deal with it.
