Congratulations; you understand etymology. That doesn't make being a homophobe any better.

This is something that has always puzzled me. If homosexuality is something the individual is born being then they are as God made them. How can I condemn anyone for simply being one of God's children made just as God intended?

Never made a lot of sense to me.

A phobia is a hatred that is based upon an irrational fear.

Now you may even hate all of those things that he mentioned. That does not mean that you have an irrational fear of them. So they are not phobias by definition.

And you know why they say many people who are homophobic have that fear, don't you?

Partially born that way - though they don't make good song lyrics. There is a nurturing component as well.

I don't see how this is relevant though because tendency to arson (pardon the pun) also has genetic basis.

I would like to see some research on this. There are too many cases of kids finding themselves, despite their earnest wishes, gay with the rest of the siblings being hetro to feel that nurturing has a lot to do with this.

You may not but I do and I never said it was heritable. We don't know right now what is causative, it might be mutations, it might be epigenetics, it might be biochemical or a combination of a number of things. Right now we simply don't know. Do you have evidence to the contrary?

So right back to what I said, they are likely as God made them so how can anyone condemn them unless they feel somehow they not also God's children.

Twin studies have shown that homosexuality has a strong genetic component. A weaker factor is how many older brothers a child has:

Older brothers increases odds of being gay

That seems to account for one out of seven gay men.

All I'm saying is that the genetic component is not 100%. But people are born with traits that we both accept and reject as moral. We appeal to genetics in an ad hoc manner. I think we should not use it at all. Im for equality regardless of the causes of sexuality.

Oh definitely. It is a complex trait. People don't go gay simply because they were not brought up with a strong male figure, or too much of a strong male figure.

And they surely don't "go gay" as a matter of choice.

Incest is a mental illness that has been shown to be passed on by teaching.

With twin studies it is fairly clear that genetics is a big factor:

A) 'Baby infants'. Infants are babies. Your redundant statement is redudant.

B) 'Infant' applies to all animals, not just humans. So you did see some infants, there. What you meant was 'human infant', but even then, you're wrong, because...
