Not physical... as we think of in this material world. This material world is temporal. Its simply a testing ground for finding out what's in men's souls.

The world to come is far superior to this material world. It will be more solid than what we now live in. This world is only embryonic compared to what will be born out of it. To God, what He created which is the invisible has greater mass than lead.

But, I digress. Back to the "matter" at hand.

Well, if I may add, she is right. And, also making a traditional assumption that cuts things too short.

Right now the Lake of Fire does not exist. That is the final judgment, not Hell. What we have below the earth right now is a waiting place for souls who rejected Jesus Christ .. Its often times referred to as Hell. The Greek refers to it as 'Hades,' not Hell. That the Bible also calls this place, "Torments."

All unbelievers souls who died who are awaiting the final judgment are now being held in that waiting area called "Hell.". And, yes, its below, and inside the physical earth. But, what all unbelievers are awaiting for will exist in another plain. Not the physical plain.

All those unbeliever who who have died? Their souls are now in the place commonly referred to as 'Hell'. They later on will be removed from Hell and then resurrected to face the Lord for judgement. After that? Then to be placed in what is to be the final judgment. The Lake of Fire. Hell is now what one might call 'death row.' A holding area for those awaiting the final fire that never dies.

It appears from what is written that Hell is located somewhere below a sea area.

Interesting point to note.

It says that the sins of the unbeliever will not be mentioned at his final judgment. His sins will not be the basis for his condemnation. For, only his good deeds (works) will be evaluated. Sins can not be mentioned. That is because Jesus bore the penalty for every man's sins while he hung on the Cross. Yes.. Your sins have all been paid for. They can not be judged twice after it was paid for the first time.

And, she was presuming it would have to be a *giant shaft.* No need ro great size of shaft. The immaterial soul passes right through rock if God so desires. And, even if it needed a shaft? The immaterial soul would not require any large space to move down under.

Look how many spirits were located within a few square feet with the possessed man who called himself Legion in the Gospels. The name Legion was a means to indicate thousands of demons in one body alone. So.. If there is a shaft going to Hell? It does not have to be massive by any means. That is, if immaterial souls would require a physical opening to get there. Radio waves do not need shafts to get through walls.

No, it really doesn't. We have an array of sensors in the entire planet that can detect seismic waves and use that data to derive a precise picture of the center of the earth. If there was a "shaft" anywhere from the surface to the center, we would know about it.

Hear about the big stir that was caused when there was an attempt to drill to the center of the earth? After so many thousands of feet they would routinely drop down various detection devices as to listen for what ever rumblings/ noises they could detect.

At one point which was very deep down, the scientists began to pick up what they said sounded like loud shouting in Arabic. So, they had agents from NSA rushed in with interpreters, to see if the Taliban had discovered a way to project signals beneath the earth's surface as to avoid detection in the normal way.

Anya isn't using conventions.

She's saying it's ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY THERE. Those were her own words. She is, in no uncertain terms that hell is in the Earth. Not metaphysically. Not metaphorically. Actually.
