I wrote this after an argument with a friend of mine. I was inspired by all the topics that came up in our discussion. So here goes...
Stubborn Salvation
Right, right, right
That's all you think
No one else can be right
No one else but me.
Ha! I cannot help but laugh.
When will you ever learn
That we have so much less
Yet so much more
In so many ways.
Life pushed you so far ahead
And so fast.
It almost isn't fairto you.
You skipped out on the best years
Of your entire life.
We're still sitting here,
Enjoying life's sweet
And simple pleasures.
Life hasn't pushed us too far
Or too fastyet.
Set your expectations a little lower,
The real world, well,
It isn't so real to us yet.
An understanding is not essential between us,
But some kind of acceptance is.
No one has to understand God
To accept Jesus.
Show me the difference between that
And us.
You understand nothing;
You don't even try.
Listening is half of communicating,
And I've done my fair share.
When will it be your turn?
Perhaps never.
The stubbornness in your heart,
May forever be harbored there
Until the end of time.
Hopefully, one day,
Someone special will walk into your life
And open your heart and mind
To a new world of understanding.
Maybe, I pray,
That special person
Will be my Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ.
