After my dad passed away I had trouble sleeping at night. So I did the only thing I knew to do. I wrote. This isn't the best thing I have ever written and until he passed away I had stopped writing for a while but it seems like a good time to start again. Tell me what you think!

DEAR DADDY,

It's hard to comprehend
What has taken place
But all I want in the end
Is to see your smiling face

I am sad that you are gone
But I have promises for you
Please continue reading on
For a message from Sarahboo

When college is finally done
I will have you on my mind
Looking into the sun
Hoping it's you I find

In the isle, without you to escort my way
To marry my second favorite man
It will be my most special day
Although bittersweet without my number one fan

The day that I hold my first child
I will wish I could pass them to you
I'll just remember all the times you smiled
And make sure all my baby's wishes come true

I promise to make you proud
And be all I can be
You just watch from your cloud
You will be proud of me

You are my daddy forever
I will always think of you
Our tie no one can sever
Love, from your Sarahboo

My Dad
My Dad is retired Cleargymen
hes always strong in the faith
his mantle is covered with trophys
that speak of a life lived with Grace
Whenever i'm blue I turn to you
your faith makes me strong and i'm righted from wrong
I have Grace in my life because of your knife
you seperate grain from the chaff
I thank you for showing me Grace
I'm not under the law, Grace I saw
Thank you dear father
I'm stronger now.

There ya go Phoenix hope this helps you some. May God bless your future poems.

P.S. please comment on my new poem its about a early morning kiss in the garden.

It sheds light on my heart to hear that your father is still alive at the wise age of 80! I'm sure he is soooo full of stories. Did you perhaps get your creative writing gene from him? I got mine from my own father. He was 39 when he passed. A short life but he lived a full one. I will surf around for more poems that you have written Greatcloud, thank you for taking the time to write to me.
