• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Speaking of rules (new and old) ... it knows CF has a rule against (1) discussing moderator actions; (2) discussing in threads whether a member has broken the rules. However, does CF have a rule against discussing the rules themselves not attached to either of these two? For example, would it be against the rules to discuss how one feels about this rule or that, or whether they think it could be better worded, or clarified, or whatnot? Mind you, not talking about anything inflammatory against anyone or against the site, merely about matters pertaining to one's ruminations or reflections on a rule, or feelings about it.

Might be better done by PM to staff, to avoid a free for all!

Not sure it understands your response Criada. Bes this official word or just your feeling on the subject?
And why PM staff? It knows the rule will not be changing. It knows staff bes busy and does not have time to listen to a bunch of whining.
Maybe it will just put its thoughts in its blog instead. No one else seems interested in anything it has to say anyway.

If a rule is unclear and you have an idea on how it could be clarified, we are willing to listen, sweetie. Can't promise that it will get done, but it would certainly be considered.

You are a lot better with words than most people... your ideas would be welcome, sweetie, really!
