A new CF, an old vision

Sounds to me like the "new regime" will be the members at large, in each forum area, deciding how they want to discuss their topics at hand.

For example, imagine if under the Recipe Exchange the consensus of the members there was that there should be a subforum for sharing recipes for making wine, beer, and cordials. It is a somewhat controversial issue, with some Christians believing that one should not drink at all, and others thinking it's a matter of avoiding excess. The discussion about it would probably be long and convoluted. But if there was a clear consensus that the members wanted it, they'd probably get it.

That sounds fair enough if the ones who liked a lot of wine and got drunk on the stuff didn't kick out the ones who didn't drink any or the ones who were Bible complicent and drank in moderation

Ahh so things are about the same as usual, except this time around it's the people who are usually unhappy, are now happy and the people who are typically happy now unhappy?

Something like that I for one am very hopeful and will wait and see before I start kvetching about things. Perosnally I think Erwin has shown great wisdom. He's going to let each forum make their own forum specific rules - and let them moderate themselves. SO if forum x wants strict rules - they can have it - while forum B can have uber relaxed rules. EVERYTHING will be done out in the open - and warnings will be done away with. GOOD BY potential for vengeance and punishment moderation.

Yes, being a Christian servant is all about serving God in private, while people on the outside will never appreciate you. If you are doing something for God, you know that your reward is in Heaven. You don't expect praise from anyone or anything in this screwed up world.

This is so exciting. Thank you Erwin. Thank you for hearing G-d's call, and obeying, #1. And #2, thank you for remembering that CF is a ministry, first and foremost. He loves all of us: every race, every nation, every people, every station of life, every man, every woman, every child. It is G-d who decides who is His. It is we who have the ability to say we believe.

I so look forward to what is to come. I would be honored to stay on staff, if I am deemed worthy by the posters here on Christian Forums. In either case, I will support Christian Forums and be so happy to be a part of it.

Doesn't matter, its his internet site. Like he said, he has contemplated ending it before. We should be grateful he is still keeping it up, and has kept it up this long.

Grateful? He's kept it up this long.
That's where you are mistaken friend. Many people have contributed to this site and I would have rather him sold this site than to do this to so many members.
He hasn't gotten reaction from most of general membership yet because they do not know what is going on.
They will though.

There are staffers that have given months, years to this site who now are put to a vote...
Give me a break. Do you think they are well liked by the majority of folks around here that they have warned?
Even so they have worked so hard that now they may loose their position on staff which becomes like a second job to many with many close friends.
Now modding is being given up to the heathens by most popular vote..

This place is a joke. This is now a secular website..
