AS the moon rose over the valley of rabbenkoff a silent battle raged in the head of young quinna.silent screams pierced her mind and invisible faces haunted her vision.she could not escape, she knew it was all a dream, but she couldnt wake up.finnally after what seemed like ages to her she sat up drenched with sweat and filled with fear. as her vision cleared she saw something she had never seen before...

A strange creatur sat at the foot of her bed... Lizard like in appearence and about 3 feet tall, It had a brutal look to it, but at the same time, a somewhat intelligent quality. It stood obeserving her for a moment, then flitted out the door and down the stairs. Quinna got up to follow.........

In the dark hallway, away from the starlight that flooded Quinna's room, the creature glowed phosphorescently. It scurried ahead of her, sometimes on all fours, sometimes standing on its hind legs, swiveling its head around with an inquisitive air. Quinna followed the dimly lit figure down from her fifth-floor tower room to the kitchen on the first floor. The creature placed a scaly hand on the pantry door, seemed to smile, then dropped down to the floor and curled up like a large dog. Quinna automatically reached for the light, and was surprised to find her hand shaking. She was even more surprised when she heard- not soundwaves- but words softly hissed directly into her mind, "Don't. No light." The creature's phosphorescent glow increased, sufficiently lighting the room so Quinna could walk without stumbling. Or maybe... maybe it was just the moonlight flooding the room, causing the mica tiles on the floor to sparkle like a million diamonds... Quinna blinked, pressing a clenched fist against her forehead. Was she still dreaming? What- or who- was this strange visitor? What did it want? She saw the creature's tongue flock quickly in and out, and felt, rather than heard, the soft hissing in her mind again as the creature read her thoughts and replied, "Some nourishment would be appreciated." Of course... Quinna moved robotically towards the pantry door, and the creature uncurled and moved out of her way so she could open it...

Quinna began openning the cabinet door when she glimpsed a yellow square on a nearby cabinet. After looking at it for a while she realized it was a post-it note. She quickly scanned the piece of paper, going to get groceries,i'll be back soon. It read.Quinna opened up the cabinet and saw that there was only a small can of tuna which she opened gave to the creature that was sitting on top of the table. "Why all of the post-it notes!" she thought to herself "All I have seen of her is her notes and she is always out late at night, not that it mattered much since it was always dark out". Quinna opened one of the many newspapers on the table and read the headline
"Chimera gets lose from National Legendary Animal Preserve" she placed the newspaper back down on the table...
