Went to the cardiologist this morning. I came home with a holter monitor. I've had one before, when they were checking out my other heart issue.

Turns out I've got four new things to deal with now.

"Should I be anxious over this?"
"No, more of a nuisance than anything."

"Can I start walking?"
"No, I don't want you to collapse on the street."

Hmm, seems that's something to be anxious over.

Anyway, I have some tests lined up, my medication is doubled, and I go back in a month.

What's he checking you for? What are his concerns?

Believe it or not, a person can faint in spite of having no serious heart implications - try not to worry too much unless he indicates that you should.

Are you on a BP monitor, too?

Yep... and diabetes left unchecked will go the same route.

TW,

This very thing happened to my husband’s father. He burned his foot severely in the bathtub because he didn’t know that water was too hot. Then because of the diabetes his foot didn’t heal and eventually he had his foot amputated.

God used this injury to allow my husband to meet his father for the very first and only time before he died. It is a wonderful story of God, taking some seemingly random circumstances, and using them to heal a wound in my husband’s heart.

One issue, the easiest, is the blood pressure running amok. Hopefully doubling the dose, which was low to begin with, will take care of that.

The EKG shows the likelihood of a blockage. My mom said my 'symptoms' indicate that as well. Great. I'm only 46! I'm having a nuclear (dye) stress test in two weeks to check it out.

The EKG also shows a definite electical impulse problem. I have had another one since my teens. It wreaked havoc with my nerves and put a damper on my life for a long while. This is one of the many things I kept to myself, dealt with badly and ended up with major anxiety and agoraphobia. It was finally diagnosed correctly about 7 years ago and went into remission 6 years with medication. I was able to evade surgery. I don't know that I'll be so fortunate this time, not looking like it....

Also, she feels my body is out of whack in the spiking pressure/getting dizzy combination. If the spiking and lightheadedness isn't controlled by meds, she's going to do a tilt test.

So, four issues in addition to the one that was already there. THANKFULLY that one flared up when I was in the hospital, causing them to do the EKG and find the rest.

The good news is my cholesterol levels continue to be good....

Had a nap. Have another headache. I guess I'll take my meds and lie down for a bit.

I never thought to ask about work. She didn't say anything either. Maybe I'll call tomorrow. I skipped my son's game today bc I don't like driving far anymore. What's getting me upset is, this is how the agoraphobia started years ago, trying to control my 'safety'. I've been avoiding being alone on the days I'm not feeling well already. I don't feel safe driving very far or working alone and far away while this is happening.

Some cause for prayer for sure!

How did I see God at work today? In the peace He gave me after my appt so I could still enjoy the day and do nice things for my family.

Those kinds of stories just amaze me.

I saw God at work in my internet places and people today.

I felt God at work in my heart today.

Anyone else see God at work today?

You know, I forgot about this idea of yours, but I think I DID. I had two projects appear, get handled, and the people are happy. It doesn't always work that way! :)

Btw, busy thread today. BW that is a bit of a rough road to be on, but there is some drawing near that you get to do.

Well girlfriend - that's a whole lot on your plate right now!

I see God's hand in allowing the symptoms you are having to cause you to seek treatment early - rather than after some full blown episode that would cause major problems. Thank You Lord!

I can understand the concern about the agoraphobia. Hopefully this will be just a short interlude until they get you better situated medically. Right now it is probably a good thing to be cautious.

Is there anything you can do at home that is more "craft" related rather than "construction" related? Like cross stitch something nice for a Christmas present?!

You are in my prayers dear one!

I was 45 when I had my first by-pass, so age isn't an issue....Hope everything goes well with you and will be praying for rapid healing for you.....
