A Need To Process Our Experiences

That's what i thought. She has been having problems with her sinuses lately, every kid at her bus stop is sick with something. I swear i must be the only parent there who keeps their kid home when she is sick.

My neice has passed out twice in the past couple of years.Both times in church LOL.

My sister rushed her to the emergency room.both times it ended up being a stomach virus.

The Dr. said she passed out from a drop in blood pressure when she went from kneeling to standing.

Keep us updated.

I think I was one of the mother's that TRIED to get my child to go to school (unless she had a fever) because I had to work - how sad is that?

However, with Emily, if she didn't feel like going to school - there was no MAKING her. (Which is why she almost didn't get out of high school - she missed 60+ days two years in a row).

Not as sad as my husband giving our sons advil and sending them to school even though he knew they had a fever and Im a stay at home mom!

And the nurse calling me a couple hours later saying your son has a fever of 101. why did yall give him advil and send him here when you knew he was sick!

I blame myself becuase I took advantage of Banana's "early to rise" nature so I slept while he took them off to school.

He's the type if they are sick he thinks "nah your fine".More concerned with them having an "absent" mark on their report card. No need to get behind right?

If R had been home this morning when i woke her up for school, he probably would have sent her. He hates for her to miss school, I'm ready to yank her out and homeschool her.

No took charge like a military comander! If I got up we were bumping egos!

Plus we only had one car! So whos driving? Me or you?

I took the kids to school during the toughest times I could though.So Im not a virgin.

Taking 2 kids to 2 differetn schools while I had a 2 week old baby that had a need for the nipple every 5 minutes.


I remember breaking the law and taking the infant out of the seat and nursing him while I drove (in my robe) in early morning ice rain.(or fog).


So I have done some "gettin off to school duties.".

But yes Banana said "Ill do it" after about 5 or 10 years.


So I sleep.

Even if Im up (and often I have been) I dont interfere with the "routine".

I give kisses goodbye.

I would have done the same as your husband did too. Maybe not the "right" thing per se, but maybe not all 'wrong' either.

Don't sweat the nurse calling either. No offense intended to school nurses at all, but her reaction could be as simple as 'y'all created work for her and she doesn't like that' - no reflection on you sis, or your H IMO.

But children can not learn when they are that sick.Not to mention with fever they are infectious.


I dont blame the nurse.

We didnt even have a reason. I was home.I can see a single working mom thinking "oh [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth]" I cant call in today".

But my Banana was more like "you'll be fine".(concerned about not having a perfect attendance record).


Hey but if HE is sick...you should see him if his nose is stopped up?

The entire world comes to an end. He is down for the count!
