Since I started this thread, I'm taking some liberty by posting some of my items from my FL thread that I believe will bless my good friends here... all you that I am honored to call my brothers and sisters in Christ. :)

We ARE community.

People will not move as far as they could on their journey into God's presence or experience the power of the Spirit as fully as they could without telling their story to another person.

No lie is more often believed than the lie that we can know God without someone else knowing us. Keeping secrets is lethal. The core of individualism is pride, and pride isolates. We can keep our sexual desires in check and we can stop drinking too much and we can give ourselves to our mate in loving servanthood and we can parent our kids with diligence and we an recognize our demand to be in control - all without ever drawing close enough to another person to have him or her see us as we really are.

But deep change requires community, and community is always mutual. We must be willing to tell our story if we expect others to tell us theirs.

TW,

Last night at our small group meeting our leader shared that he finally told his whole story to another person for the first time in his life. He shared how there were things in his life that he couldn’t even be honest with himself about. He said it took 8 hours with his mentor, broken down into several meetings. Afterward he said how incredibly freeing it was. He finished off our meeting reading an excerpt from the Larry Crabb book you just quoted and expressed how he hopes that our group will be able to become more real with each other and have the freedom to each share our stories.

Thank you TW.

The thing I love about our group is how open and honest we are with one another. We extend trust and faith like no other group of people I know. Maybe some would say that it's easier through the internet but we all know that even on the net it can be a harrowing experience.

Yet we extend that trust and faith to one another. And we welcome anyone who wants to be open and honest and we lift them up too.

I really enjoy the fellowship I have with you all! And I really appreciate all the encouragement I have received!

Love you guys!

And i think that's why they are trying so hard to shut down our threads, they can't stand the fact that we aren't sitting around whining because they won't let us in their little club.

Hey... We had a fun night! Football. Both boys played Defense together, I got tons of good pictures.

Its good to see you all here. Yes, our trust for one another has been cemented. Our bond is "forever".
I shall think our houses will be all on the same street when we hit the streets of Gold!

That will be nice... we will fellowship openly and freely in Jesus!
