But our leaders? Should we elect leaders who can't practice what they'll be preaching? Unrepentent sin(At least with no attempt to try and repent..) in leaders shouldn't be allowed, heck, it shouldn't be allowed if we dare to follow Jesus.
I get what your saying. still doesnt constitute for all the hate.

Well said.

It is amazing how many Christians ignore this while promoting hate and discrimination of our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.
Hate? Perhaps maybe, but hate is in the mind, and I don't know who is promoting hate either. (Then again, what is hate? Since you are so able easily judge everyone's mind.) I don't think i've ever seen anyone promote discrimination either, I suppose this is a form of discrimination, seeing as they aren't allowed because they're gay. But honestly, leaders shouldn't live in unrepentant sin and try to preach a message to others.

The response from TEC Bishops is far more nuanced than you realize. It actually is a tiny step in the truly right direction - not as big a step as hoped for by most gays and lesbians. (nor many of the bishops, for that matter) But the Anglican Communion is an important concept to the House of Bishops. It's about relationship for mission and ministry - and that is huge on a global level. So we have left the door open for conversation.

But do not think that gay unions will go unblessed. They are happening now, and will continue.

A lot of you are falling into the trap of the Adversary....you think that your right standing with God is because of what you do or not do.

If a Gay person is called by God to be a preacher and teacher of the word....ordain them... or face God the Justifier, at the Great White Throne.

God is the one who Justifies....not the Scribes and the Pharisees of today.

I agree so much.

The whole idea of Christ's resurrection was to enable each of us to be ministers. (splitting of the curtain and all that)

This is a very interesting point of view, and I think it is one that I have quite a bit of respect for. Thanks.

Dear SpiritDriven,
A lot of you are falling into the trap of the Adversary....you think that your right standing with God is because of what you do or not do.
Could be true, yet actually many have acknowledged that right standing with God can only be possible through Jesus.

yes basically but if a person is called by God to be a preacher they wont be calling themselves gay or straight, rather they will be calling themselves Christian. Furthermore if they are called by God to teach the word, they have to teach the word of God and not their own ideas.

God is the one who Justifies....not the Scribes and the Pharisees of today.
The Pharisees and Sadducees disputed what Jesus said, there are many doing that today, the promotion of sss is one of them.

Dear Chalice_Thunder,

Then I would say the TEC has not dishonoured the rest of the communion and more importantly God
The church is not here to many tiny steps for gays and lesbians or straights but for the Kingdom of God.

There is no dishonor in furthering the Kingdom of God.

Standing up and proclaiming the dignity of every human being, including gays and lesbians, IS part of the work of the Kingdom.

I agree but what we disagree on is the Kingdom of God.

Standing up and proclaiming the dignity of every human being, including gays and lesbians, IS part of the work of the Kingdom.
Jesus has already done that +2000 years ago so all may repent and come to righteousness and eternal life, What you are promoting with same-sex sex is stuff He has died to forgive us all for.

That’s not dignity.
But as I said the church is not here to many tiny steps for gays and lesbians or straights but for the Kingdom of God. You still just keep referring to gays and lesbians, the Kingdom is for all

I know the Kingdom is for all.

But often people want to exclude gays and lesbians from it. TEC is indeed furthering the gospel by including us.
