  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sorry, i just dont know who to ask.

I am olny 18 but have had a lot of problems (probably stress related) with my heart. Missed beats/palpitiations and also pain, for a number of years.

Because we have a lot of heart disease in my family, i have had heart monitors, seen specialists etc etc and they didnt really show up anything.

The last few days the left side of my chest has been incredibly painful, feeling almost like a blunt object is being twisted into it.

I am wondering if this could just be growing pains?? The other thing is i used an astma puffer that was over a year out of date a few days ago (by accident) could that be related?? Or could it be related to my eating patterns?

Sorry if this is totaly irrelevant. It's just the doc. has given up on me and it just keeps gettign worse. :|

I know you probably don't want to hear this, but if you are experiencing anything "incredibly" painful, you should probably be seeking medical attention. I would be willing to guarantee that this is not related to your outdated asthma medicine.

The only thing I would add is that you might consider seeing someone about "stomach" related problems if all of the cardiac specialist's test have returned negative. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) often mimics heart problems. (I'm not sure that it would be presenting with blunt, twisting pain, though.)

It's not a bad thing to change doctors, either. If your current one has given up on you, I would give someone else a chance.

Sounds to me like it's nothing more than anxiety. Some people who suffer from anxiety or even panic attacks may feel as though they are having a heart attack, skipped beats, heart palpitations, extreme chest pains, a hard time breathing, feel dizzy ect..

I'm sure there is nothing wrong with you and your just fine.

Actually, it's quite normal for your heart to skip a few beats every now and then. I wouldn't worry so much. :)

Here is a question for anyone game....... I have heart problems, I get SVT ( Supra Ventricular Tachycardia) and also have a mitral valve regurge going on. Lately in the last couple of days I have had tingling in my left hand, it is really driving me nuts. Once and a while I get chest pressure or pain in the left side of my chest which seems to coincide with this tingling in the hand yet I do not get faint feeling or feeling as though my heart is really misbehaving in any way. What can this be??

his excellence, my humble opinion is to have it checked out sooner rather than later. Circulation problems evident in my hand required quite a lot of testing and ruling out before the cause was found... all the best to you! :)

P.S. I gave ya a little blessings boost there, since you were running low. ;)
