Genesis 9
6
"Whoever sheds man's blood,
By man his blood shall be shed,
For in the image of God
He made man.

We are guilty because of sin.
We are SAVED because of HIM.

_______

A MAN was SACRIFICED
The SACRIFICE had to be a TRUE HUMAN.

If YH'SHWH had come as GOD to be human, the SACRIFICE would not be any good.

YH'SHWH, even though HE is GOD, had to come as a human and learn who HE was.

As WE should.

Otherwise, HE would not have been a true human.
_______

Let me put it this way:

How many times have you heard the story of how you are a SON of GOD?

Do you still have doubts of, you, being a SON of GOD?

Every miracle YH'SHWH did while on earth was as a human submitting to HOLY SPIRIT.

As WE should.

Otherwise, HE would not have said that WE are going to do greater things.

Also, if HE had done the miracles while being GOD,

HIS overcoming the ways of the world would mean nothing.
_______

This is what I believe:

YH'SHWH is GOD.

HE denied HIS GODLINESS/HIS THRONE to be human

and to submit to HOLY SPIRIT.

As WE should deny ourselves and submit to HOLY SPIRIT.

Every WORD that YH'SHWH said, in SUBMISSION, was HOLY SPIRIT SPEAKING.

As WE should allow HOLY SPIRIT to SPEAK through US.

YH'SHWH, GOD, would have to learn who HE was while on earth.

As WE should learn who WE are and believe/have FAITH on the ONE that HE sent.

YH'SHWH put all of HIS CREATION on the line to SAVE the ONES HE LOVES.

US. HIS PEOPLE. HIS BODY. HIS BRIDE.

HIS ISRAEL.

HIS SACRIFICE is TRUE.

HIS SALVATION is FINISHED.

WE are HIS!!!!!!!

LOVE, RICOEL

Could you elaborate on this? I have always been somewhat confussed on this matter.
I have heard differing views and they all confuse me.
One is that He was God and man at the same time.
One is that He was God, then put his godship on hold to be man.
One is that He is a special creation of God just to be sacrificed.

It seems that you may be saying closer to the second one. That He is God, then added the nature of man to Himself. At which time He did not use His divine powers.

I am fairly new to the bible and this is one of the issues I would like to have a more clear understanding. I am not knowledgeable enough to ask specific questions, but I would very much like to see this thread continue so I might learn from it at least as a spectator.

Thanks for bringing it up and blessings to you and yours.

Whitman,

Although trivial issues like this are important. Get to know Yeshua first in a personal way and learn to be led by the Ruach HaKodesh. Then... develop your theology. Theology is an important part of the word of God, but relationship is even more important. My theology constantly changes, besides some of the base and core of it, and I've been a believer for 18 years.

Shalom Whitman,

I encourage you in your seeking, and caution you in your expectations. For questions like this there can be (until Yeshua returns and clarifies for us) only opinions. The Body of Messiah in all it's forms have been gnawing and working at this question for over 2000 years - no one here has the definitive answer.

We had a thread not too long ago on just this. Here are the links to my opinion: Part one and Part two. The whole thread is rather informative.

But --- JH is not incorrect - your relationship with Yeshua needs to be more and deeper than such theological conundrums.

Thank you for the links.
My son who is 11 has started to ask questions. Although I believed in God, my life was not devoted to Him. My son has renewed my interest and I feel it will be a blessing for us to study together. What better way for father and son to spend time together?!

Whitman that is WONDERFUL!!!

Rabbi Yehoshua (Ha'Moshiach ben David) sacrificed his life in the manner as if I was at war and sacrificed my own life to save my friends; this however has nothing to do with the Law. He said he gives his life. He was not a lamb, he was a human being, and he fails every Law of sacrifices.

Info on why he fails to be a lamb sacrifice: The sacrifice had to be physically clean (yet Yehoshua was dirty, they beat him in dirt), the sacrifice could not be beaten, miss treated; no bruises, marks, or cuts (yet Yehoshua was beaten extremely bad), the sacrifice must be killed fast, not tortured (yet Yehoshua was tortured on the cross/stake), the sacrifice must be offered in a place where God put his name, the alter (yet Yehoshua was offered on a cross/stake), the sacrifice had to be burnt, and then eaten, and whatever was left over had to be burnt (yet Yehoshua was not burnt nor eaten).

Then comes the question, what was John the immerser talking about by calling Yehoshua the "lamb of God"? Simple, it refers to Tanach in Genesis 22. In verse 8, Avraham says God will provide himself with a lamb, however, what was caught in the thicket by its horns was not a lamb, but a ram. In the Hebrew, ram is "ayil", and for the lamb here, it is "ha'seh" (the lamb). So did Avraham lie by God providing himself a lamb since a ram was provided? No. And John the immerser was referring to this lamb that Avraham prophesied about.

It really is not terribly difficult....

ALL the sin sacrifices were IN PLACE of our death because we have warranted death with our willful sins. Even at that our death would only pay for one sin, not our many.
G-d gave us the sacrificial system in place of our own individual death - this is why the sacrifice had to be spotless and clean and so forth - because even the most perfect anmimal is not equivilant to the life of a man. And the sacrifices were only a "patch" that was held in place by G-d's grace and our obedience of heart.

From the moment Adam sinned there was a debt legally owed that no single sinful man could pay. This is why it was necessary for someone who was without sin to unjustly die FOR SINS. One sinless death COULD pay for untold sins, where untold deaths of sinners could never pay for the sins of even one man.

Yeshua was not a type of the sacrifices, they were a type of Him!! He soul was sinless and spotless and unblemished - where only the flesh of the animals were sinless, spotless and unblemished. "Fear not that which can kill the body, but that which can kill the soul."

The sinless man Yeshua, body (died) and soul (decended) experienced the two deaths - and rose victorious because He was the only sinless death.

Ah, well, perhaps that is too much to discuss......

There was actually two men sacrificed, both were sacrificed at the same exact age- the age of the omer.
if there were two that gave their lives willingly, who were they and who did they do this merit for?

the 1st was Isaac, and his sacrifice was for Israel.
the second one is the one that the WORLD acknowledges that was done for them, the sacrifice of Messiah Yeshuah.

The 1st has been in the Jewish liturgy since Ezra, and Messiah Yeshuah recited this during his prayers each day; these prayers aknowledging the sacrifice of Yisthak Avinu is called the Akeida.
Those who do not recite this are not Jewish at all, and are the people of the world.
Thus Messiah Yeshuah willingly gave himself for the world and those near G-D in the world- the Gentiles.
His first mission was indeed Mashiach ben Yosef
And as the sages say
Mashiach is amoungst the gentiles.
And it is evident today, since Yisrael is exiled- "Mashiach is amougst the gentiles" :)
but no one really recognizes him.
