For those ministers that focus their ministries on the moment, namely evangelists and those invited to the local church, the end result of their ministry is almost exclusively a short term matter.
Between buildings and tents, it's definitely tents.
For the Minister that actively plans for the future, you definitely have a possibility of creating a more permanent shelter to include branches that house the birds of the heavens.
I realized this one night when I acytually took some time to observe one pastor I was working with.
This guy made a lot of noise and made a lot of tongues happen within his little group, yet you couldn't see anything that you could equate to a permanent shelter.
Part of the problem is that he had only one topic throughout the year.
The other problem was that his ministries did not train anyone for their role in the future church.
The only person that could preach was him...
Now, that's looking at the minister's role in edification.
The text actually refers to the activity that the believers engage in through a lifetime of biblical application.
Where a typical structure is exposed to flame and its content is expected to the stand the test, the decorative aspect might be burned, yet the functional strength is not effected.
When you have the material described as gold and other precious materials, the implication is a question of giving it your best.
Yet the important aspect is that of making concious decisions related to what amounts to what is the foundation of a lifetime.
The layout of a house, church, emergency room or hospital will not change as a result of fire, it will change as a result of trying to build something beyond biblical limits.
The fire may come, the fire may burn, yet the structure's identity will never change.
