Hello, everyone! I wanted to just share one example of prayer that God has answered for me lately and which has been an encouragement to myself.

I usually accumulate fat in the winter like a lot of people, but I always try to be healthy and try to get rid of it again in the summer. I know too many obese people, and don't want to end up like that... So last summer I was running once in awhile along this hiking trail that goes in a loop. After doing this a little while, I felt amazing and lost the winter fat without too much effort. Even when I had a serious eye condition that left me in excruciating pain, I kept running and just made sure I drank more water.

Anyway, then winter came again, and I was in pretty good shape still until Christmas (haha!). I hosted a Christmas party and had snacks to last me for weeks afterwards. So yeah... Fun times. ^_^ I gained five pounds, which doesn't sound like much, but is enough for me to feel uncomfortable and have heartburn and digestive issues.

So I was anxious for spring to come so I could get back to running. Within the first week I already broke my distance records of the previous year! But lately I've felt like I have to keep stopping prematurely because my body just gives up and I'm gasping for breath... I've struggled to even match my first few runs of the year!

But I wasn't giving up. I just needed a new strategy. One day, I stopped prematurely again and I thought to myself "You know what? I'm not going home yet. I'm going to start running again and I'm going to do it while praying for my friend who doesn't know Jesus." I asked God to give me strength, since I had already done my running and came up significantly short of my goal. I then assigned each letter of my friend's name to different parts of the loop and as I began running again, I said a different prayer for my friend at each imaginary letter. Before I knew it, I was at the end of the loop, not having stopped once and I even ran all the way back to my car in the parking lot! I couldn't believe it!

Today, a similar thing happened. I chose a different trail to run on and my goal was a point where the trail met a public road. I wanted to reach that point and turn around and go all the way back to where I started. But when I got there, I was completely exhausted and had already stopped twice... It was kind of discouraging, knowing people run marathons and here I was struggling to run even two miles! So again, I asked God to give me strength to run all the way back to where I started without stopping. Knowing there were some very steep hills to go up, I was even less confident of this prayer than before! Again, I said I would do it as a testimony of my concern for my lost friend. If Jesus gave His life for us, I would die running for my friend if it came to that. Which was very possible. ^_^

So I started off again. It was kind of a blur, but I got up the steep hills like it was nothing! I was at the top and thinking, "Wasn't that hill steeper before? How could I be past it already?" I reached my starting point, and... Continued on to the loop from my previous runs and completed that without stopping, too! Then I ran all the way back to my car in the parking lot, kneeled next to my car, and gasped out a prayer of thanks to God for giving me the strength I asked for.

I think overall it was maybe 5 miles. My best distance up until today was 2.5 and I felt like I was dying by the end of that! I truly believe God answered my prayer in giving me the strength to keep going, because it was a huge accomplishment for me. Not a marathon, but hey, I'm proud of it. :)

Now if only this running would have some effect on my winter fat... Still confused by that one! :D

This is a great testimony. God is good all the time and Jesus is our Lord and Saviour. God bless you and Jesus is Lord.
