  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A while ago I lost my portfolio. I salvaged about a dozen pics or so, and I started taking more pics now. Mainly portraits as that is what i find most interesting.

I was wondering if you could critic my new photoblog/portfolio. Tell me which ones you like the best, and which you like the least and why...if you can think of anyway to improve ant shot just let me know.

Thank you.

What a shame to lose your portfolio. :(

As to your site, you've got some very nice work!

Comments:

- On two of the shots made on May 29, the horizon line is not straight across the shot. In a portrait such as yours, the unnatural line of it is distracting.

- My favorite pieces are the ones with the least amount of background distraction. You have a very nice eye for expression, and for relationship when photographing people together.

- Some of my very favorites are in the section "a few oldies":
. the sepia toned portrait of the young woman at the rocky beach
. the sepia toned man two shots after the young woman
. the series of black and white portraits of the woman in the white dress
. the black and white shot of the man with the guitar

What a bummer to lose your portfolio!

Your pictures are lovely. I'm not the greatest critic expert, but I also noticed the horizon line in just a few.

My faves I think are on your other blog. The one of your wife with a yellow orchid (?) in her hair is awesome! And she's very beautiful too. The only teeny-tiny thing I did notice was maybe her chin could have been tipped down a touch more to give a more natural distant stare look or feel. And then the one of her holding your son with a major close up of him with just a glimpse of your wife is awesome too!

But for your portfolio blog I really like every picture in your "Oldie" post. The desat ones are fantastic (but I'm also a huge fan of desat)!

I think you're doing great!

Do you mean the line running behind their heads?
