My husband passed a short time ago. He was my son's baseball coach along with many of our local boys. He knew his cancer was terminal and still coached. He stood as first base coach for an entire season and bawled every time they did their best.
Now, when my son and his friends get up to bat or slide into home base, they glance at me and point to heaven. I understand their message. "Coach" is watching from the heavenly bleachers and is cheering them on still.
