  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just a quick update, I was searching to see wether or not Mead needed to be chilled, I discovered that this is certain type of Mead called Melomel. Melomel, is basically mead mixed with fermenting fruit, in this case, cherry.

I'll do my best. I've figured out that you can't reform the Church from the outside.
Once I move to my better parish, I plan on getting as involved as I can at the parish. The only problem is, by the time I move, I'll probably be back in College, I'm going to have to balance my schedule very carefully.

I only attend my parish when I'm on the schedule to serve. Over the years my wife and I have learned that we like beautiful and reverent liturgies in beautiful and reverent churches. I remain at my parish out of loyalty to my pastor and out of my own stubbornness. Being an altar server gives me an unique opportunity to give Catholics a greater appreciation for their faith, and I don't have to say a word, I just have to show up. I'm not sure how much longer this will last though.

Hope you're having a lovely Solemnity of the Assumption.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us! :crossrc:

I should, I do intend (Lord willing) on sometime in the future, going back to my my irreverent parish, and promoting reverence, tradition, etc. But that won't be for awhile (I'm not sure how long) I need a lot of spiritual growth first.
