I editted my character a bit, I don't mind the prologue I like the difference of it. It gives the characters more history together. But I also wouldn't mind if the characters started outside of the city gates... Whatever you think is best.

I think of the game more like this... You are taking a completely blank character... And developing them as the story goes along...

As your character continues through life outside of Bethany they develop their personality, they gain a history, they learn about emotions, life...

It is actually a good writing challenge. Completely developing a character as the story moves... I personally like the idea.

Hey, Flute. That Eowyn quote is true, but I doubt that's the point. The authorities carry guns, they have permission. We don't and can still be shot dead. I think that's what Sylvie means. Only the authorities carryweapons in Bethany, unless you can get ahold of them.

Maybe there is a better way for me to put this... Create a personality and emotions for your character. What I mean is that while in Bethany, they are...under a spell? We are leaving Bethany very early in the game.

Initially, I could have just started people at the city gates with no memories, but people always yell at me when I do things like that, so here is your prologue. If you'd rather just start the game right of, let me know, and we can just do that. I wanted to avoid complaints and give a reason as to why.

I don't why they would yell at you unless you try and create personalities for them. Then again it's been a long time since I've RPed here. But I should still think you need a beginning post to get started.

Point being, we are leaving the city. What's outside? If this is a Middle-Earth Mideival type world, even if they don't need weapons inside the city, will they outside?

Yeah, you will, but they will supply them, based on whats in your profile. If you dont put anything they'll just give you something.

Hahaa. Put into your character profile what his likes and dislikes are if you want, including what would be your weapon preferences. When they restore your...emotions?...they'll set you up with what they see fit. Meaning, whatever you have on your profile.

In game terms, this simply means that sooner or later your character will have everything you initially wanted for him (within reason ), he just won't start the game with everything. We'll try to stab through the prologue as quickly as we can, but I feel that its necessary. It will push the characters all closer together in a way.

This campaign's starting conditions worry me, since it seems the only thing to drive the story is the setting; hopefully the setting will be able to generate plot points. I do have an ace up my sleeve, though - if things get too bogged down, I can always start power playing.

And you make a good point. We'll see how it runs...it's been a while, but I think that I've got enough running for it because I've still been writing. So we'll see.

Once you start writing it's hard to stop. When I left here I just went to another RPG forum and kept writing. I think with the right people and a good plot we can keep this going.

Lessee....I'm gonna have to get back in to the swing of things and lighten up a bit for here but I'll see what type of character I can produce...I should have one up soon as i can type up every thing I wrode down...might take me a bit to get back with things tho. I'm having a bit of a rought time this week, er..Month.

That is so true, Flute. Writers write. Get a bunch together and the magic happens, and thats usually what drives a game even more than the plot or characters; the writers.
