Philippians 2:13
Paul teaches that God gives us both the desire and the accomplishment the Word and the Word made flesh.
As a humble sinner praying that God will see things my way and grant me an ever-so-simple little miracle, I wonder if I am therefore sufficiently surrendered to Gods will. Should my simple prayer be, Lord, Thy will be done? Or is it okay to keep hope alive for my little miracle with my prayer; even ask you to join with me in that prayer?
Arguably, God knows best; knows my needs before I ask. But perhaps I have a choice here.
That must be what Paul was going on about when he wrote, God begets in you any measure of desire or accomplishment.
Brothers and sisters, I believe strongly in total surrender. I also believe that this measure of desire begot in me comes from our Lord and is well worth praying for. If Father Abraham could bargain with God, so then may I.
Should I not receive my (a) miracle, I will know that I tried, that it was not in the Divine Plan. I will rejoice in Pauls promise that all things work to the good for those who love Jesus and are called according to His decree (Romans 8:28), which means God has a (b) different and better miracle in mind.
Praise the Lord.
Pray incessantly for A or B. Have a good Lent forgive someone.
