A leak...

I have a leak. And it smells funny. I dont know what it is or what I should do... advice?

how far along are you, and what kind of leak? if you think it may be amnoitic fluid I would go directly to the hospital...

I'm 19 weeks and I dont know if its amniotic fluid. There isn't a lot - just enough to make me feel like i've kind of wet myself - plus its a lot smellier than normal and a lot more liquidy instead of creamy...

Put on a panty liner if you have one. Call your hospital and ask to talk to a midwife... they'll be able to give you better advice, and if they say to come in they'll direct you to the right place (rather than going via emergency dept).

I suspect it's just normal pregnancy secretions... they often turn more liquid (and abundant!) around then. But it's best to talk to a professional.

Thanks Ladies. I just got off the phone to the hospital midwife who advised that i go to my GP tomorrow for some swabs and bring my 19wk scan forward from Friday.

I'm sure everything is okay - but you know... first pregnancy and all I cant help but worry

It might also be a urinary tract infection...hope you doctor visit goes well

I was fixing to say if you coughed or sneezed when it happened it might have been urine... oh the joys of pregnancy

it could be normal..i leak alot during pregnancy..its annoying

I leaked a WHOOOLE lot during that time of my pregnancy and I got pretty concerned about it, too. When I had the doctor check it out, she said it was normal...but still, better safe than sorry!
