You should study the Bible without Ellen White's writings if you're not sure what to believe about some things.

I have been. I don't use EGW's writings at all while studying the bible. I'm looking at her writings separately to see if they sync up. Many people trust her writings, so the least I could do is see if they are inspired according to the bible definition (that is, matching what the bible says). Nowhere did I say that I put EGW's material anywhere close to the bible or use it for bible interpretation.

thanks Xenon for your feedback, the basic questions remain, and your answers have shown that there is no consistent manner to explain what angels mean in prophetic language which gives some permission to some interesting views... as for Babylon and the Mark of the Beast, I stand by my statement that we have no clue as to what Babylon or mark of the beast is.....
