  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi. After a long time i'm coming to CF, but i'm just entering the javascript field. is there a way to have a bible using javascript only. i know it can take a lot of work but is there. i'm currently using another website that shows random verses on my website everytime you refresh it. the website is bibleportalproject.com. anyway, i hope there is, if there isn't then i may have to use PHP or something like that which i have no idea what it is. lol. peace.

You can use Javascript to access another document that stores the text in one large, or several smaller files, preferably XML. Javascript runs in the clients browser, so such a large document with search features may be unwieldy. On the other hand if you have the XML file on your web-server, you can write a neat PHP script to do the work at the server, and send down to the client the verses requested. (PHP is your best bet I think!)
