  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am having a hard day today. I have had a lot of flashbacks and my PTSD was a struggle today. I put on my little cross necklace, which is helping. I am feeling a need for Jesus to help me. I had to call out today to Christ to please help me and to please comfort me. I was having flashbacks to my past rapes and I began to have a heaviness on my heart. I felt heartbroken. I called out to Jesus that he would see me and hear my cries for him and that he would comfort me and hold me close.

I'm SO very sorry that you went through such difficult experiences.

Praying.

When I was going through a hard time with PTSD and flashbacks, I'd tap my heart and recite "Lord, heal my broken heart" over and over until the thoughts would leave. If they returned after I stopped tapping, I'd repeat again until I could direct my thoughts somewhere else and have them stick after I stopped tapping.

I did this every time the thoughts and PTSD experiences started.

This was a paraphrase from:
Psalms 147:3
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Within two or three weeks, the PTSD recollections diminished somewhat and within about 3 months I had healed significantly, with needing to do this far less frequently.

If you can studiously keep your mind off the trauma by using a method like this, you'll have so much emotional strengthening. Then, later, with more time and distance from the last time you felt the trauma, you'll be able to categorize, process and heal over the pain better.

Hugs and more hugs to you,
E.

Dear Father In Heaven,
I pray for this sister of mine, that You would comfort her at this time. The enemy has attacked her in the past but Lord, despite the evil that was done to her, You turn things around. Thank You that You are near to her at this very moment and You see the emotional and mental anguish she is going though, bring peace to her spirit, remind her that one day all these will pass away and she will be with You for eternity, for only You have the power to heal her broken spirit. Keep her in Your embrace, shield her away from the attacks of the enemy on her heart and mind. In Yeshua's name, amen.
