CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am starting to feel really out of the loop.

When I was younger I don't remember there being so many people opposed to body hair. I mean I believe it's nice for women to shave their legs and underarms (and any stray facial hairs :D ), but lately I hear women talk about shaving their arms and other places that just never occurred to me. I never wanted my husband to shave his back or chest hairs, just his face. To most of my black (or African American) friends, it's not an issue, but some of my white friends are really anti chest and back hair on men. I was wonering what you all think about it?

I know this thread could easily get out of hand so I'm trusting everyone to be really cautious/thoughtful in answering. If not, monitors, feel free to delete it.

Me too.A neatly trimmed beard and mustache is nice, but I think a man with too much hair on his back is just gross. Gorilla man!!:doh:
I have a friend whose son was a runner, though, and he used to shave his legs and arms to cut wind resistance.

As far as men go, I really don't mind. I guess if it's not your thing then you will be attracted to someone without it.

I don't feel all that good about women shaving everything. To me, that feels more of a pre pubescent look that is so often sold in the media. Same as the whole flat stomach teeny weeny look, again pre pubescent looking. Not all, but most girls and woman who attain the skinny minny look also have tiny breasts and often resort to surgery to get something up top. Hair, body size and body image are all just part of this societies idea of the perfect body. It will change as it has over the years before.

Don't get me wrong, I shave all the 'standard' spots (I conform to the norms as much as the next person) but I think in general that mature woman were made to have hair and curves and soft spots.I have to say that, 'cos that's me :p

I should have been born in Renoir's time and he would have been painting me as the epitome of a women's body. I'm just a few hundred years too late :doh: ^_^

Yeah! I'm not to into a guy having hair on his back :sick: but chest hair and facial hair - especially a few days stubble is really sexy to me, go figure...but I also don't like a really full beard...

Swimmers do the whole shaving legs and arms thing too!

The beard has to be neatly trimmed. No mountain man type scraggly things. You never know what might be growing in them!^_^ No 'soul patches' either, that just looks stupid!

It's that little bit of hair right under a guys bottom lip...it's usually only about an inch or so...it really is sort of ridiculous! I'll see if I can find a photo...
