  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just to share. One of the big issues with me is that i never got an anulment from my first husband whom i married in the Catholic church when i was 18. I got the divorce during the time i wasn't involved any longer in the Cathoic church. I married my present husband 8 1/2 yrs ago in a Lutheran church. When we came back to the Catholic church a yr and 9 mos ago i almost went and applied for an anulment but ended up putting it off. I don't know if they would grant me one or not. So, according to the church i am living in mortal sin with my present husband. I don't know what to do, but it is something that definitely holds me back from practicing my faith fully. I just had my son baptized Catholic this past Sunday. Maybe thats why God has me THINKING so much this week. I think i have been sitting on the fence and either need to jump feet first into my Catholicism and go all the way, including applying for the anulment, or i need to find another way. Please keep me in your prayers. This has reallly been weighing on me. Thanks.
