For all you PRE's out there...
The Protestant Tradition by J.S. Whale

The book is a concise treatment of of the significance of Luther and Calvin and the relationship of their theology to inter-church relations today. Unlike many books on Luther and Calvin, this one is accurate and easy to read, a rare combination.
Anyways, I highly recommend it; especially it's very lucid chapters on the theology of Luther, something not always easy to understand and often caricatured unfairly.
Unfortunately it's out of print, but there are a number of used copies available online (many of them for less than $5.00). It's a good investment and useful for understanding our common reformational roots.
