Hey I really want to give some books to a few of my friends as they all go back to university. I really like "A Purpose Driven Life" but it is a bit long and not really about selling Christianity. It's so well written and powerful and I was wondering if there was something similar but aimed at non-Christians. I was hoping to give them something they could keep and look at and remember and that really communicates how awesome and amazing it is to know God- please any ideas?

One I just started reading today: Christianity for Dummies by Richard Wagner. It is an enjoyable read, written in the 'Dummies' style, but the author certainly makes no bones about his love for the Lord.

This is a library copy, but I am thinking I may just have to buy one for myself.

Mmmm I have a feeling that most of the non-christians I know wouldn't read anything I gave them if it was related to christianity.

However, I have loaned my mum Left Behind #1 to see what she thinks of it.

I was thinking of giving my future father-in-law Next Door Saviour by Max Lucado because I found it really inspiring... but maybe it was because i was really into it. It sort of puts Jesus into a real-life perspective.

Good luck

I loved the Movie. I was thinking of reading the book..I had to read an excerpt from the book for Class and we got to read the part where the man was talking to Christ and all that they intend to do to pull the woul (sp?) over everyone's eyes and make people deny him :(. It was such an interesting read, I probably will read the book soon.

The only Christina book I have read besides the bible is In His Steps and it was pretty good but I never finished it though.

Oh yeah! And also, "The Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel for any of your friends who are Atheists or Agnostics. I haven't read that one either but I suspect it's a good book too. The Case for Christ received a 4 star rating on Amazon and The Case for faith received a 3 1/2 star rating. Also, check out this site: http://www.christiananswers.net/catalog/home.html

http://www.christiananswers.net is an EXCELLENT Christian apologetics site and they also have some books and videos in their catalog. Some of them might be good ideas to give your friends.

The following is a quote from Dostoevsky's great novel The Brothers Karamozov. The Startz Zossima is conversing about the proofs of God.
"One cannot prove anything here, but it is possible to be convinced."
"How? By what?"
"By the experience of active love. Try to love your neighbors actively and tirelessly. The more you succeed in loving, the more you'll be convinced at the existence of God and the immortality of your soul. And if you reach complete selflessness in the love of your neighbor, then undoubtedly you will believe, and no doubt will even be able to enter your soul. This has been tested. It is certain."

i say :
he or she is right .
but if we say that a book must be given , i see that a book that tells the spiritual stories of the christ , or even the christians is accepted well .
