  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Many times. That tends to happen when you are athletic teams. A banquet every year.

The one that was for a team I was not on was the University of Southern California swim team. One of the swimmers at the table I was at was Bengt Gingsjo a Swedish Olympian.

So now you know something Wiki does not. Bengt swam for USC.

So the obvious question. Have you ever met an Olympic athlete?

Yes, once only when my husband was in the car with me and the hitchhiker was just a teenager trying to get home from his friend's place. He had no backpack or anything like that.

Yes, once. My plane landed all of 5 minutes before the busses stopped running so I hitchhiked across Oahu. Better than spending 5 times as much on a taxi as for the flight.

HYE been to Hawaii?
