  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You know, I realized that isn't true ^^^

ROFL

I did, actually... I don't care who knows...

I just remembered it: Twice, three days apart, when I was 24, so :mmh: 28 years ago, and this is the best part--maybe I should wait and post it... no, I'll duplicate it IF I remember...

that I didn't feel a darn bit different except in the back of my throat? It was like I had just chewed plain aspirin and the bitter aspirin had dissolved and was dripping down the back of my throat...

So I asked the person who had 'shared' it with me, 'When is this supposed to do something?' and his eyes went huge and his voice high, and he said, 'Are you kidding me, you can't feel that?!?' I said, 'No, but this bitter taste in the back of my throat, how long before that goes away?' He said, shaking his head, amazed, 'Drink some soda pop' (Wisconsin, that's what they say, soda pop) so I did drink some Pepsi and it went away...

OK, true story, and to me, really funny, so Josh My Man, still want me as your Friend? I didn't do it any more, just 28 years ago ^_^, you know back when we did stuff and 'some of us' didn't pretend not to have?

Oh, so now what have I never done... Ah, got it:

I've never driven a stick-shift car!

And on that one, you should thank God for 'innocent people on the road with me' because, I was so often, back in the day... driving on auto pilot, thinking, always thinking..., planning practical problem-solving, whatever, lost in my childhood, all at the same time--and I didn't drive sedately, either.

Josh,

I read that writers, i.e. professionals, have unusually good memories--some other 'groups of people do too', but writers in interviews often share memories from when we're two years old and three, like that... My older sister gets mad when I remember so early and she doesn't, and says 'you can't remember that far back, I don't...'

I said, Sis, Mom verified the memory and she was stunned too: It was this dish I had with a suction on the bottom to attach it, make it not move, on the table, and there were fish in fluid. When I ate my food I could see the fish. And it had sections to keep food separate--I didn't remember if it was two or three--Mom said three).

The dish was blue; I don't remember what color the fish were.

My Mom said, 'You did have that dish; and it was blue!'

Well, heck, I read an interview with Charles Bukowski (and a autobiographical novel) in which he has memories at three, but the best was Eudora Welty, I believe, and she was under 2; I got jealous :D

***

I never remember to check the mail (I need to cuz I am expecting a prayer ring; pretty cool...)
