Hello CF'ers,
Though I have left these forums I know how many of you were praying for us and wondering what would happen with our candidating etc. And so I felt that it was only decent that I come back here for one final post to give you an update.
As you may or may not have known (depending on who you are) we were thinking about candidating at a small Independent Baptist Church in Edmonton. We went down for a weekend to check things out. In the am Sunday School we shared our testimonies and then I preached a message in the am and pm. We left wondering what would happen - and feeling like the church was a real fit for us. I told the pastor there (retiring) that I would need a 90% vote; this because the congregation is so small (30 folks or so) that I would want to have at least 90% of the people behind us. We were called back a week later (actually while we were at a wedding) and told that we received a 100% vote. We had since prayed and talked much about the possibility and started to really feel that the Lord would have us go. So we've decided to go.
Much has happened between then and now. We've took another trip, sold our house, (I) faced the ordination council (7 pastors - representing 5 churches), I was ordained, we bought a house there (Edmonton) and now we'll be moving to Edmonton in 3 weeks.
So if you happen to live in Edmonton and are looking for a church to attend - I have one in mind
.
We leave on Sept/08. Myself and some folks from our church here in Wloo are going to be making the 35 hour drive across Canada to our new home. My wife and the wee ones will be flying out on the Monday - and we'll move into our new home then.
We have appreciated your prayerful support and do pray that the Lord will bless you for your faithfulness and kindness to His servants - your fellowservants. We're looking forward to a good time of rebuilding and outreach in Edmonton.
Thank you all for your support!
P.S. Bleechers EMAIL ME. I don't want to lose touch with you!
