sound like interesting books, but are you know for me.. Quakers and Mennonites shouldn't really be classed as Ana-baptists.. because Ana-baptists from what I studied always saw the body of Christ as a congregation or assembly.. never universal.. the universal is the Family of God.. not a church. Anyway, I think both Quakers and Mennonites are universal church movements.. maybe I am mistaken.. but yah.. that was one of the main key markers of an ana-baptist church (Waldenses, Paulicians, Donatists etc) as seeing a body of Christ as an assembly or congregation.

I'd suggest reading the wiki on anabaptists. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anabaptist

I really don't know a lot about Anabaptists actually. I know what the word means, and I knew they share similarities with Quakers and Mennonites.
I would love to learn more though (I go to Quaker meetings myself).
Mennonites are the largest modern denomination of anabaptists. Anabaptists and Quakers have a lot in common in that both tend to be oriented more toward praxis than doctrine, and tend to use the Sermon on the Mount as their theological lens for bible interpretation. Thus, they are historical peace churches, and believe in separation of church and state on theological grounds.

I think you will find the Trail of Blood associated more with Baptists than with Anabaptists. I think you will find in the Baptist forum at CF quite a few believers in the Trail of Blood tradition. However, the Martyr's Mirror is a similar book that is written more from an Anabaptist perspective.

Baptists are not historical peace churches, which is the main reason we have this forum. The Baptists didn't want to fellowship with peace churches at CF, so CF split us out of the Baptist/Anabaptist forum.

oh true! Interesting....:)

I dunno if I am going to find churches in the Trail of Blood tradition in the Baptist forum.. but it is possible I guess. But yah.. I know now from talking to my Pastor Ana-Baptist wasn't a name just coined for churches in the Trail of Blood tradition.. but it included basically all Christians not Catholic and not part of the Reformation.

So yah.. interesting to study.. and thankyou for the post :)
