  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Psalm 91 said:
The Blood Moons have happened three times in the last 500 yrs. if I recall correctly.
Then you remember incorrectly.

There have been lots of "blood moons" in the last 500 years.

To make them look significant requires:
1. Arbitrarily saying that four in a two year period is significant
2. Also saying such happening on a Jewish feast-day is significant. (Which happens a lot due to the feast days occurring around full moons close to the equinox.
You then "find" that there are 6 occasions of that happening.
3. 3 of those fall vaguely close to some event that of Jewish significance so you pretend the other three never happened.
4. Ignore the fact that the dates are only vaguely right - within about three years.
5. Ignore the fact that the "warning" comes after the event.
6. Ignore the fact that the eclipses were not visible in Jerusalem.

Excuse me, it was seven blood moons occurring on Passover and Succoth since 1 AD.

Your accusations of me "pretending" anything is ridiculous. You must be another liberal. Liberals always attack the character of their opponents.

I did not ignore whether or not the blood moons were visible in Jerusalem. I don't think it matters. The Jews know that God performs miracles. And considering what was happening in 1492, 1948, and 1967, I am sure they were miracles. They saw miracles in their wars with their neighbors. It's others who need to see acts of God.

Christian News Reported from White House Focusing on Israel

See? God gives us "signs in the sky" and we don't pay attention or we don't believe because we don't want to believe. For some Christians, God will have to physically place them in the sky and point out the "sign". And some Christians just plain don't like Jews and that is probably the main reason why they don't see anything significant in the coming blood moons.

:doh::doh::doh: You are so funny. You don't even read your own articles. The article that you provided used the data from the USGS to try and prove their point. Not to disprove the USGS. They also used data from Wiki and Dlindquist which also got their data from the USGS.

You'd better go back to school because those grade school kids are brighter than you.

Even a grade school kid could understand what you call gibberish.:D:D:D Go back to school.

I wasn't explaining away miracles in the sky. I wasn't giving the scientific reason for a natural occurrence. Here, read one of the mainstream sites. I'm sure that you will try and explain NASA away with that lame excuse.
NASA - Total Lunar Eclipse

I certainly do believe that God "can" speak to us through signs in nature but I don't believe that every natural occurrence is a sign. Especially when there isn't anything from scripture which backs it up. A lunar eclipse meant more to the Jews than solar eclipses because the calendar was based on the moon. The important part was that they had to be visible from Jerusalem.

A lunar eclipse which was only visible in another part of the world meant nothing to them.

As far as a red moon, or "blood" scripture says that the sun must be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the Lord returns, so when you see a total eclipse of the sun and a total eclipse of the moon on the same day which effects Jerusalem, then you will impress me.

They are not trying to provide a scientific reason, they gave scientific fact as to why the moon appears to be red as the eclipse is waning.

Well, at least you finally said something correct.;)

Who is doing that?

No, I always side with God but science hasn't disproved God in the slightest manner. Science gives us better understand to the wonders of God. The wonders of creation.

You really don't understand anything about people.:doh::doh::doh: You really don't understand scripture or Christianity. So sad.

You know? You are a really insulting and belittling person. You should read some of your posts. And you should read my article AGAIN!

Never again. I've said it before but this time I will never respond to you again. I always get sucked back into an argument with someone who is more stubborn than I am. We will never agree on anything and I'm tired of your insulting posts. God bless you and have a wonderful life.

I guess that makes you a liberal since you have been attacking the character of every member that disagrees with you since you joined the forum.

I have read it several times. Go back and show where that article says that the USGS is wrong. It is not there.

The article is also wrong about the number of earthquakes reported. It claims that only 16 quakes of 7.0 and greater were recorded between 1986 and 1996 but if you follow their links you find that number is actually over 140.

The USGS then has a chart showing that during the 1990's there were 153 earthquakes, worldwide whose magnitude was over 7.0. It then shows that from 2000 and 2009 there were 144 7.0 or greater quakes, meaning that there were less during the next 10 year period.

Now, to be honest, though the number of quakes greater than 7.0 decreased, the number of 8.0 or greater did increase.

These were counted by following the links provided by your article to back up its claims.
