I've asked this question here before as have others, but it has been a while and there are so many new faces around here. What does your user name mean and/or why did you choose it to represent yourself?

My user name is taken from CS Lewis's Narnia books. She's my favorite character. She is very sweet and loves The Lion with all her heart.

Well, for lack of a better, more interesting intro...my name's Whitney and "callmeso-and-so" was one of the sample names on the ezboard signup thingy *sheepish* and so I picked it :) (my nickname from my friends is Whit) What can I say, I had a moment comPLETELY void of any creative juices.

And just wanted to say hello, I'm new here (I was pointed in this direction by Josh's Journal, spiffy guy) and am loving what I see...you guys are awesome! :)

nowiamfound was taken from Amazing Grace... one of my all time favorite hymns :) well, around the web i'm normally oncewaslost (also from Amazing Grace) but when i signed up on ezboard oncewaslost was already taken so i went with second best. with the name oncewaslost it was shortened to owl which i also go by around the web. :D

Amazing Grace how sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I am found, was blind but now I see...!

Flavius Josephus was a Jewish historian in Roman times who was in Caesar's court and is the source for much of Jewish history in the times between the two testaments. His secular and objective view of the Christian "sect" in Israel sets him as a key non-biased witness to the truth of the existence of Jesus, and of his followers in Jerusalem. His accounts detail Roman records of early Christian persecution, giving weight that they were considered societal outcasts at the very start and their members were often tortured and killed.

His works also include the history of the Maccabes who started a revolt and won Israeli independence right before Rome rose to power and took over the whole world.

The insights of his writing include "facts" he obtained from written works in his time period that we do not have today - works that shed light on other biblical history, of which the Works of Josephus contain the only written references. He objectively shows in his History of the Jewish People that the texts for scripture that they used in his day was in fact the Old Testament translated into Greek since most Jews spoke Greek rather than Hebrew.

In short, Josephus is a thorn in the unbeliever's shoe when running away from the truth of the bible, of scripture, and of the history of God's people and the church.

I am a member of the Church of the NAZarene and a girl. Couldn't think of anything good when I first got on the internet and in Nazarene circles the word Naz is used a lot (we have the NazNet, some churches call their gym a Naz-arena, in Mt. Vernon Ohio where one of our colleges is- Mt. Vernon Nazarene College- the locals call the college the "Naz").

Well, when i was signing up at the Left Behind boards, every single name I was trying came up saying it was already in use. so in one of those dumb moments, i was like "gee, I need a name!" and well....never ever put those kind of things in to see if it will be accepted, cause usually, they will.

And then I kind of started liking it, so i just used it again when i signed up on ezboards.

So, thats me!
