  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had a long talk last week with my best friend. April is having a tough time lately. Her mother has been chatting with a guy on the internet and just met him for the first time last weekend. They've been talking every day for the last year and a half, and decided that they're going to get married next weekend. Oh wait... that's not all. He lives in Australia and flew allllllllllllllllll the way here to marry her.... it get's better. She's selling everything she owns, or is giving it away, and is moving back with him in 2 weeks. *insert dramatic organ music with super flat key, here* April is very upset, as is her moms side of the family, and I would say that they should be. Granted, she's 57 and can do whatever she likes. She can live her own life out, but it's one of those 'so sudden' things and April is afraid that she won't see her mom again for a long long time.

The only thing that she can see coming out of this, that is good, is that she can get super cheap vacations to Australia. Everyone on her moms side is pretty high strung right now. We're attending a small wedding this weekend and helping her get packed for the trip. So please pray for April and her family, it's much appreciated.
