Yeshua taught us to address our prayers to our Father, in His name.
John 16:
23 And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever
you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that
your joy may be full.
What authority does the Holy Spirit have in regards to prayer?
Romans 8:
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray
for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot
be uttered.
27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
We do receive instructions from the Holy Spirit, under the direction
and authority from above.
John 16:
12 I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;
for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak;
and He will tell you things to come.
14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and
declare it to you.
I speak with the Holy Spirit every day, throughout the day, in accordance with the
example given by Moses.
Exodus 33:11 So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.
And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man,
did not depart from the tabernacle.
The Father is in heaven, whom no one has seen.
Joshua is a type of the Son Yeshua, seated at the right hand.
The Lord is the Holy Spirit, the Presence at the tabernacle of meeting.
I address Him as Lord, or My Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:
16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
The Holy Spirit empowers us and gives us authority to serve our King Yeshua.
1 Corinthians 12:
3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls
Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
There is no scriptural support for addressing prayers to the Holy Spirit.
If you are a servant of the Most High God, you should speak as a servant
and address the Holy Spirit as Lord, as He rightly is that, and serves the Son,
even as the Son always deferred to the Father when on earth.
John 5:19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son
can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does,
the Son also does in like manner.
John 8:29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always
do those things that please Him.
John 16:
23 And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever
you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that
