  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I would like to open up a sprited conversation/debate. And to continue with my theme "A Deeper Understanding". For through adversity comes much growth. Let's start off with MerrianWebsters definition of God. Since we are using the english languge to communicate we must first define who or what God is in english. Merrium-Webster: The being perfect in power, wisdom and goodness who is worshipped as creator and ruler of the universe. Genisis 9:11 King James version : And I will establish my covenent with you; niether shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. Genisis 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. "Perfection" which God is implies one who does not make mistakes. Yet here it seems God is apoligizing for the mistake of flooding the earth and killiing every living thing except Noah and the living things in the Ark. Then God wants to make it all better by giving mankind a "token" Rainbow? Makes one consider do I really want the God of the Bible as my God? Who is this God who gets upset with his own creation then distroys it and is but a reflection of human frailty.
Aloha,
Chuck
