• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Christmas time is a great time to rededicate your life.
We serve a forgiving God and he wants you to be whole in him.
Can you talk to a pastor or elder that you trust?
I've prayed for you.
Have you ever considered a Christian counselor? Sometimes they have insight to help us understand our patterns of behavior.

Hi Jack, very sorry to hear about your struggles with sin. Fortunately, we serve a loving Father who is always willing to forgive us (1 John 1:8-2:2) :amen: So turn away from your sin, ask Him for forgiveness, take Him at His word and know that you have it, and get on with your walk once again.

Praying for you!

In Christ,
David

"Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!
For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you may be justified in your words
and blameless in your judgment.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being,
and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart."

Holy Father, please give our brother the strength to persevere like You want him to so that he can draw closer to You once more for You did not merely suggest that we do not become discouraged but You went so far as to Command it: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you..wherever you go. Fight back, brother. Fight the lies of the enemy that's making you feel unworthy to be forgiven, that you're ''too far'' from grace, that He'll never want to forgive you or help you.. because our Heavenly Father wants you to fight back, to persevere, to not stay discouraged and down, to get back up and continue walking foward towards Him in your walk regardless if it starts back off at a slow crawl. Keep persevering. We ask all these things in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth..Amen.

Hello, I must confess something to you all. I am a 3 time backslider. I know, but don't believe I have committed the unforgivable sin. And have gone back into my old ways. Please pray for me, help me.

Hello Jack. It appears the only thing you have been a "backslider" in is the salvation of life in Christ. From what you say, I see you have fallen away from trying hard to be a Christian, and have not ever attained it. My friend, let me urge you to read all of John 1; John 3; John 14 (noting especially John 14:6).

When one confesses their sinful nature (by birth) to God, and thanks Him for His "...so great salvation" in Christ; then receives the Lord Jesus into their heart and be devoted to Him as one's best Friend daily, that one will be "born again" as a "child of God" and "sealed" forever by the Holy Spirit. That is the essence of the Gospel and the Bible truth of salvation and eternal life and blessings. Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship, and that is found in Jesus, the Christ of God. Christians fail in their manner of walk at times, but can confess it to be restored ((1 Jn. 1:9-10).

Look up always and write me anytime. - Ever in Christ by grace alone, 1watchman

You have not committed the unpardonable sin. Not even remotely.

Sometimes we go in circles rather than in a straight line. Learning from each regression, adding to you understanding of Jesus and keeping on with your journey is where it is at for you.
