Er.

I'm not getting it.

How can a site which excludes Catholics be a "Christian" site?

Maybe I'm just dim, but, like, aren't Catholics pretty much half the worldwide Christian population, maybe a little more?
Just so you are aware, the reason the owner gave of why this policy is in place, is to help prevent fights and arguments.

But you're right; if they are going to claim themsevles to be a "Christian" website, then they should allow all Christians to freely speak there.

Hmm. If I wanted to prevent fights and arguments, I'd probably focus on the real troublemakers; people who aren't dead yet. They're the ones who normally start fights.

:p

Joe Tan was the first owner and he was very easy to get along with, he lived in my area and I talked to him on the phone and then after he sold the site to Fritz I was gone from there for quite awhile. I came back there and all of these rules were then in place maybe that is when Esher came into it. Also WinterCrowe I didn't have too many problems with, his wife is RC. Then he also started to turn a bit and the next thing I knew he was no longer a mod. JC, That Guy From Canada, Yellowcar and I had some ongoing things over Catholicism and the day that I was told I was a pagan that was the day that I left the site. I am back there now and mainly stay in the Prayer Request section because of the attacks. I couldn't fight it on my own so haven't been there for quite awhile. TabCat is one of the mods and she is for the Catholics - we PM each other quite a bit and she pretty well keeps me abreast of what is going on. They did get rid of one of the mods that was one of the biggest troublemakers as far as the Catholics go and that was Earthless.

Btw there are a few of you that I do remember from over there. I am still there and my name over there is Jasper.

Every once in awhile I will say something on the thread and then I have to back off because I can feel the anger well up in me and I really don't want to answer anyone out of anger.

Hmm...they have a teens section.
I checked out some of the threads they had in the teens and it made me ready to cry with what they believe. Maybe if I got someone else to come and join with me I'd be willing to venture forth and show that we are Christians.

I agree with gtsecc. Another mod that will be helping this cause for the Catholics is Candyrobbins. I have conversed with her quite a bit and she does not see anything wrong with the Catholics. She says that she has her beliefs and the Catholics have theirs and as far as she can see there are only a few things that we differ on, the same as any other denomination differs. She pushes for us in the mod's forum.

It might be a good idea to post over in STR and send in the Anglicans. Most of us overthere are Anglo-Catholic. We translated the KJV (with deutero canon) so how can they argue with us?
You know, that is actually a very good idea.

Yes, even thought he is not a mod anymore, he still causes alot of trouble in any thread that is even remotely related to the Catholic Church.

Yes, Rising Suns I do know that he still causes trouble. I don't know if you have seen your thread "The Letter From Hell' or not but I was just in there and went to answer and realized that it had been locked. I really don't know where these people are coming from, I feel within myself that there is a lot of judging being done and it is not the Lord doing it.

Btw, have you ever read the book by Sister Josefa Menéndez 'The Way of Divine Love'. It is an awesome book as to what this Sister went through for our Lord.

He does have the tendancy to narc on Catholics. He told on me because I had a Fulton Sheen quote in my sig. It was quite childish. Still, we must be gentle.

Good ole earthless, he's still around. TLF and I had some discussions with him, maybe I should pull out the Rosary beads for him. Words sure didn't penetrate his thick skull, maybe some prayers will.

Christianity.com's infamous "TOS #17": "Do not make statements...contrary to those of Christianity as articulated by the historic creeds, as understood by Evangelicalism, and as interpreted by ChristianBBS.com/Christianity.com at its sole discretion."

That rule was written in 2003 as a response to the inroads Catholics and Orthodox were making at Christianity.com.

The key is the phrase "as understood by Evangelicalism." That made all the rest of us personae non grata.
I think I was posting there around 2001/2002. I recall (after either having had posts removed or put under the threat of that) hauling out their then-definition of "orthodox christian" (which referred pretty much to the Nicene Creed) and pointing out that, under their own definition, Catholics/Orthodox were "orthodox."

Their "amended" definition is pretty ludicrous: it boils down to taking articles like "communion of saints," "one baptism for the forgiveness of sins," and "one holy catholic and apostolic church" and intepreting them at odds with how the drafters of those 'historic creeds' understood them.
