  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A bit of Fun ..........

Hi my name is Cygnus and I am a music-holic

I have been taken over by music all my life , and I need help .

The days are long and I can barely go an hour without reaching for the cd-player , or the MP3 player , I have cd's hidden all around the home , and I know I have a problem.

It's nice to meet fellow listerners and we are all here to show support for each other at this time of our lives ...........

It all started with the Beatles you see , then Hendrix then Queen , then ......... I am sorry I can't go on ......... it is too enjoyable , er I mean , Painful , so now it's your turn ..........

my name is Amy,

and I have an addiction to pop-country music. I dont know when it all started. A little Garth Brooks here...which really was the gateway music into a full flege country addiction.
Its in my head..all the time.
My radio is constantly on the country music station.
I workout to country music
I do my homework to country music
I clean the house to country music.
I can't live without it now.

(I'm just a little spacedout.) I have my MDs at work, CDs in the car, CDs/MDs/LPs/MP3s at home. There's never a time when there's never music playing, even if I'm just hearing it in my head. Normally this is a good thing; the only problem is that I need to keep acquiring more and more music to feed my addiction...

I was once with some people that banned Rock music (a Christian commune) , and all I could hear was this song going around in my head , I told a person about it and he said "don't worry it will pass" I said "the only trouble is it's 18 minutes long , it was 'dazed and confused' by Led Zeppelin , the Live version! :p

i'm bryce

i've known about my problem for about 2 years, although the problem started about 5 or 6 years ago.

i hoard massive amounts of music on cd's, mp3's, or whatever else is around.

being homeschooled doesn't help... i'm constantly near my guitar, which can lead to massive amounts of homework-time lost.

and i have a confession to make,

i recently bought an iPod.

yes, i know :(

and it's not one of those mini ones either.

I was spending so much of my hubby's hard earned cash on CDs I had to get a job-

I AM NOW A CD REVIEWER!!! I get paid in music, thank you God! The storehouses of metal have been opened up unto me!! I hear new stuff months before anyone else even knows they have an album coming out!! THANK YOU GOD!!

I used to wait tables in a comedy club, that was the best job I ever had in my life. This blows that away! Nothing like having a never ending source to feed my addiction, eh? GOD ROCKS!!

Hello, my name is Candice I as well have an addiction.

It all started about 22 years ago when I was still in my mothers womb. My father has admitted to putting ear phones around her stomach so that I can know from early on what good music sounded like.
I have heard of many parents putting on Mozart or other classical music artists, but my father knew the key to intelligence lie within the soothing sounds of the fab 4.

It eventually got worse, moving on to harder stuff by the age of 6. Hendrix, Led Zep, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith etc...
My parents took me to my first concert (Bob Dylan) when I was 12.

I am now approaching my 22nd birthday, and I find myself in music stores spending my college tuition on massive amounts of cd's, mp3's etc. They are all over my appartement.
I listen to music when I get ready in the morning, while I shower, when I am studying, as I am sitting infront of my computer, virtually whatever I am doing.

I am scared that if I dont stop now, my cd collection might reach uptowards the thousand mark.

hi. i'm gig. i confess that music is a main attraction in my life. okay, it can swallow me up so that i'm lost on the other side of sound, with no awareness of reality outside of audial bliss. my main addiction spending hours trying to make "the ultimate mix." before I know it, it's so late into the night that I know i'll feel awful the next day. but i can't stop. and i have no end goal for "the ultimate mix" ... it's for no apparent reason, really. other than for the *glory* of "the ultimate mix." can anybody understand that? i mean, what if, one day, you could actually achieve "the ultimate mix"?!?! it could happen, and that thought spurs me on in my constant assemling and disassembling of playlists. but then, were i actually to produce "the ultimate mix," there would no longer be the *dream* of "the ultimate mix." and what would i live for?

At first, I just listened to some U2, Police, and Train.

Then I heard Further Seems Forever. I liked the alternative rock well enough.

Then I heard Copeland, and was hooked. The Get-Up Kids, Jimmy Eat World, Yellowcard, and Lovedrug came in quick succession. I was suddenly addicted to emo/indie/alternative rock in the space of a month. I like this stuff so much I jump at the chance to burn CD's by these artists for my friends.
