  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The first section basically says that God doesn't like us to live like sinners, nor follow their (bad) advice or do the things which make them sinners, but God loves people who live by his laws.

I did find it difficult to explain, because I couldn't think of the right words, so I put it short. Hope this helps!

Three things not to do:
*Take advice from corrupt, ungodly people (i.e. lawyers ;-) )
*Hang out among those looking for trouble, and
*Get your jollies from tearing down others.

One thing to do: Put fellowship with God and appreciation of any communication from him (his "law" and "word" being effectively the same thing) ahead of all other forms of amusement.

That make sense?

Maybe a different translation would help you:

Psalm 1:1-2 NLT:
1
Oh, the joys of those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with scoffers. 2
But they delight in doing everything the LORD wants;
day and night they think about his law.

In a nutshell..... Blessed is the one who follows the ways of God, and not the ways of man.

Nice. Also notice all these things are idle, taking bad advice, standing in the wrong place, scoffing at or gossiping about others...

May you be blessed.

To give you a modern north american cultural way of putting it.........Blessed is the person who does not join a ruthless murderous drug-dealing gang, or who is easily influenced by such people. But you are blessed if you do such the opposite, such as not join the Crips or the Bloods, and don't deal drugs and don't take part in a drive by shooting.

Ok so that may be a little extreme, but I think you get the point now :D

Thank you all for your answers and advice.
But again I have a question about the revelation of John, Apocalypse.
First, i don't understand much about it.
And I wonder why there are so many seven things in the book.
Seven everythings.
Do you know why, how or what?????

If you want to ofcourse,
Please help me.

The book of Revelation is the most difficult book of the bible to understand. Most of it is written in a picture type format. Its purpose is two fold. One: it is a stern warning to those who reject Jesus as their Savior. Second: Is that it was written as a letter of comfort to those who were alive at that time and were under going extreme persecution. Many believers at that time were even put to death for daring to believe in Jesus.

The number seven is a number of completness. All troughout the bible the #7 signifies something as being complete. God created the heavens and earth in 7 days and so on.

Thank you all for your words.
But again I have another question.

Isn't the writings made by the apostles sometimes seem like a book of riddles?
It is never very clear of what it is exacly saying to us.

Right???
No wonder everyone is telling differently about it all the time.
Right???????????????????????

What I have come to understand...about God and the Bible...

is that He has to allow us understanding of what is in the Bible. We must seek Him and understanding...and he allows according to His will.

There was a time....when I thought the Bible was almost in a foreign lauguage. it did not make any sense to me whatsoever !

It's a mystery...and He alone gives insight into His ways.

Be encouraged !

But if we must seek him, How will we know when we found him?

This is not an easily answered question.
Not even sure if I can answer it at all.

What I can tell you...
is that if you are seeking the Living God,
you will find Him.

He promises this !
A real promise...
and God does not break His promises.

Anyone who indeed knows the Living God can
confirm this.
