President Trump’s Battle Cry was, “Build A Wall,” and he won the Election. In 2006 Sen. Chuck Shummer, Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillkary Clinton were part of the Bi-Partisan effort to secure 700 milles the Southern with unmaned drones, double fences (wall), electronic snooping devices and an assortment of other measures, including more paid agents and maintenance but today ¿have become hypocrits? refusing to secure the whole border that would impede the Drug and Human Slave Trade, not to mention greatly impeding the Iranian and Arab traffic crossing the same border because of it’s ease to cross.

G.W, Bush signed the bill into law, so why was the project dropped? It looks, to this observer, as though we will save 5 to 10 times the cost each year the Wall stands in the cost for Law Enforcement, Unpaid Hospital Bills, Education Costs and the list just goes on.

Both parties are brain dead.
Now there is a post after my heart and soul. Friends, I have been preaching for decades that both parties are corrupt and have miserably failed the nation in at least three areas.
(1) Failure to control illegal immigration
(2) Failure to make the U.S. energy independent and to move away from dependence upon fossil fuels.
(3) Worst of all, the National Debt is out of control and both parties are equally to blame for this scandal!

Why have the American Democrats gone Brain Dead?

It's incredibly frustrating as an observer brother Bill. Far too much partisan one-ups-manship going on imo, and if nothing is done, only serve to hurt us the people who voted the partisans into office.

Being brain dead is not understanding the full issue and then complaining about it.

The DHS asked for changes in 2007 because the fence wasn't the best way to secure the border in some areas. Mountains span large areas of the border, private land owners also own large sections on both sides and don't want a fence blocking them from accessing land, other land formations also pose obstacles.

Illegals and illegal drugs come in through ports of entry far more than cross the southern border. A fence can help in the right places but a fence like Trump wants is a massive expense to build and maintain.

This is true.
The swamp the current administration is busy draining consists of members of both parties but also private persons and organisations with power.
However, due to the last 8 years of Obama, the globalist elites and their minions seem to have concentrated in the DNC rather than in the GOP.
And they never thought she would lose...

I spoke to the issue as a whole, I am sorry to see such closed mindedness from people claiming to be saints. You folks look to be leaning directly into the Nit Picking Well and selecting the least of the issue to drive the opinions of Satan's Followers into prominence. We sit here loosing about 250 Billion a year in services because the Border is open, unprotected when a mere, one time payment of, 10% saves 90 to 95%, freeing the other 90% saved to institute a multitude of other programs if we, the people, will take leg and act like Americans.

What would be the scheduled reduction of forces if the wall is built? I never heard that any forces would actually be reduced, but in fact increased.

What, then, would be the addition of costs in terms of monitoring and maintaining the wall?

All I see is bipartisan. Both parties want the same things when it comes to illegal immigration i.e. cheap labor and an under class dependent upon government subsidies and Obamacare i.e. government control over life and death decisions in personal health care. As they agree but both know a large percentage of the American people oppose much of what they want , it is left ot one of the parties to speak as if they oppose that which they actually desire in order to placate while frustrating those Americans that oppose their desires. If there were an actual opposition party, i.e. a party that in deed and word opposed the statist agenda, and that party came into control of the Congress and the Presidency would they have acted in the way the Republicans have over the last two years or would they have continued to vote a to repeal Obamacare and fund a wall when doing so was no longer a way to play at being on the opposite side of the Democrats on those issues?

I think for sure Big Financial Interests want to keep dirt-cheap illegal labor, so neither party is actually going to stop that money train either by keeping them out or by making them legal.

I'm not closed minded. I just like the facts. Problem is, the far right considers people like Ronald Reagan the left these days.

The stats which the poster, in question, sited came from a far right publication and none were proven. Now if you want to show that the facts in question are valid, please do.

That happens a lot around here, some folks purposely only know one side of the story instead of all of them.
Some people seem to think there IS only one side to the story...
...and that there are no contradictory stories...
